Both words come from different languages. Purple from the Latin Purpura (purple dye) and Orange from the Middle East/Western Asia (where orange trees originated from) - both words were assimilated into the English language and over the centuries pronouncation has been changed. There are other words with various origins that have no rhyming partner - I believe they include silver and month.

purple: hirple - a limp, was mentioned above; curple - someone's bottom, butt, ***... whichever term you prefer; twerp'll - contraction of "twerp will";; "Twerp'll" is undisputable. (I believe "hirple" hasn't been counted as a real word since the 1500's or 1600's, and "curple" must be some form of dialect because I cannot find it in most places.)

i saw this on a tv show a rhyme for orange is "door hinge" i'm not sure if that will help much though... also, lozenge, scavenge

I looked and I found all of these that ryhme with "Purple" ample, Appel, apple, archetypal, businesspeople, carpal, chapel, congresspeople, couple, craftspeople, cripple, crumple, decouple, dimple, disciple, episcopal, example, fipple, gospel, grapple, hopple, spokespeople, staple, steeple, subprincipal, supple, temple, laypeople, maple, metacarpal, multiple, municipal, newspeople, nipple, oedipal, opal, papal, people, pimple, pineapple, Popple, principal, principle, pupil, quadruple, quintuple, ripple, rumple, salespeople, sample, scalpel, scruple, Semple, simple, tipple, topple, townspeople, trample, triple, uncouple.

Ok I actually think I have the CORRECT answer! Nothing ryhmes with orange unless you make up a word BUT does anyone remember that drink from the late 80's, early 90's called Burple? It was in a container that expanded to get bigger and you added water and you got some sugary drink for kids. So nothing ryhmes with orange and Burple rhymes with purple ;-)
