My kitten is only 3 months old, and she is an indoor cat. She sleeps ALOT. She sleeps about 3/4 of the day. Is this normal?

Cats are nocturnal by nature. They sleep a lot during the day and play/eat in the evenings or at night. Your cat is still a kitten too...so just like a baby. She needs to sleep more while she is growing.

Cats average about 18 hours of sleep per day. The up side is that it's normal. The down side is that they don't care if they use some of the other 6 hours for activity while you're trying to sleep.

First, cats are nocternal animals, so it would be normal for her to sleep alot during the day when you would notice it. Second, cats can sleep as much as 20 hrs out of 24 hrs in the day. I think mine sleeps 22!

Yes it is perfectly normal for a cat to sleep so much. My Tom cat sleeps 16- 18 hours a day. They sleep so much during the day because they are Nocturnal. They are most active during night time.If she pounces on you during the night she probably thinking:"HEY where's the party and excitement?!''

Depends on the cat. As long as they are a healthy weight and all, I wouldn't worry about it.

Young and older cats sleep quite a bit but you have to keep in mind, what do you do when you are bored? Lay on the couch? Go buy some cat toys or catnip to give them something to do.

Cats tend to sleep about 20 hours per day. They require as little as 20 minutes of attention per day. The rest of their day is either eating, using the litterbox and playing.
