You cant get rid of it.
Maybe given time it will fix itself.

I had a Staffies and never had this problem, the only thing I can think of is the hot weather, I took my dog to the vet last week and the place was crammed with people whose dogs are biting themselves silly because of allergies. My dog is on herbal hay fever tablets (I walked out of the vet) and he's stopped biting.

Have you checked for fleas too, they are always round the tail end and leave their dirt there.

I don't know about staffies in particular, though I think that is the next kind of dog we are going to get. I do have a blue heeler and hers resulted from heatspots. I also have a half red nosed pit/ half american bull dog. He has allergies and used to scratch and gnaw until he had bald spots. We took him to a vet and got allergy injections for him, they were not cheap, but it was well worth it.

sadly poor breeding can lead to problems like this. It may be the beginning of a skin condition, or the dog may be chewing the area because of fleas. Take him to the vets and get it looked at. I hope you have insurance as they should cover the cost of any investigations the vet may have to carry out.

If it's hot and sweaty it's probably allergic excema, its extremely uncomfortable for your dog and easy to treat.
If its dry and like the rest of the skin it could be ringworm, which you and your kids can catch. Ringworm glows under ultra-violet light.
In any case, just go see your vet. No one, not even a vet can tell you what it is over the internet.

Go or ring the vets and see if they can help you in some way. As my neighbour has that problem with her cat. But hey Im no vet so just ask.

Skin problems are quite common in Staffs.Take him to the Vet and they will give you some cream to rub into the bald spot. That worked for us and it never came back !!!

sbts do tend to have problems with their anal glands. they either rub chew or drag their rears, its amusing to see. you could try sqeezing them yourself, or get the vet to do it and watch and ask questions, as it may keep happening. we had a dog that chewed her tail so bad it had to be amputated. i dont know why they do it. must be something neg in the breed.
