It depends on the country. Latin nations believe that the butterfly is the soul of their ancestors, watching over the current generation. Thus they are welcomed when they approach in their migration. In Europe, butterflies were dead gluttons, restored to their current form to eat plants and wheat, thus ruining crops. There are many superstitions about the luck one recieves for killing the first butterflies of the year. In Asia, moths are evil, but butterflies are messangers for the gods. Wise and/or rich men kept whole swarms of butterflies as charms or signals of power. In religious lore, a butterfly stands for the rejuvination of the Host, as they are both seen as comming from a corruptable form (the caterpillar into a pure form (with wings). In nature, the butterfly heralds spring, while in art, it symbolizes the free soul or spirit that guides the artist's hand.

IF they are in my stomach, it symbolizes PEPTO-BISMAL(hope I spelled it right!!!) Butterfly symbolizes the transistion from a LOST person to a SAVED person(cocoon to Buterfly). YOU get your Spirit RECREATED(Born-Again) and then you study, learn, assemble and gather, read your Bible, Pray------Presto-Chango(not to be confused with magic) YOU should finally turn into a CHRISTIAN,,,, untill then your just a Child of GOD on your way to HEAVEN.
A CHRISTIAN can fly in the HEAVENLY's with JESUS, Children of GOD are mostly EARTH-BOUND!!!!
