Tomato juice. Second choice: lemon juice, if you don't have any tomato juice handy.

Here's a good website for this kind of information:

You can buy some stuff called skunk off at the vet. My mom's dogs get sprayed all the time and she has used it before. It comes in a black bottle with a picture of a white skunk on it. Otherwise the smell just has to wear off. The smell will go away in around a week and a half to two weeks.

Mix the following ingredients together in a pitcher...

For a small to medium size dog....

1 quart hydrogen peroxide (3% strength)
1/4 cup baking soda
1 teaspoon liquid handwashing soap.
Double those amounts for large dogs.
Then...

Rinse your dog with water - get him wet down to his skin.
Slowly pour the mixture all over the dog and rub it through his hair.
Let that soak for 3 or 4 minutes.
Rinse it off with water.
That's it!

Your dog won't smell like a skunk anymore
tomato juice works to neutralize the effects of the skunk odor, but it's not as effective as the above-mentioned remedy.

Try pure tomato juice. Bath the dog in it and let it sit on the dog for alittle while and then rinse it off and shampoo.

When I was in Cosmetology School, the recommendation for eliminating disgusting odors in hair was to use tomato juice. I would recommend this for dog hair too.
