at the moment i have my:
xbox
fan
freeveiw box
phone charger
DVD player
TV
stereo
alarm clock
plugged into 2 sockets and mine have only caught fire once or twice so its not all bad, by the way don't throw water on the fire as its an electric fire, that was the first mistake i made.

although that experience has taught me something, its quite hard to type with 3 fingers, and its very hard to eat with 1 arm.

i don't intend on unplugging anything any time soon though as it is very hard to pull the plugs out of there socket with 3 fingers. !!lol!!

as everyone else seems to have said yes it could be a bad idea. But you should be fine as long as you don't exceed 3.5Kw at anyone time (just add the watts up on the appliances (like a a lamp maybe 100w). 3.5Kw = 3500w (35 x 100w lamp bulbs) this I stress should be a MAXIMUM load with all applainces on. just have a fire extinguisher near by just in case. and set you phone to speed dial the fire dept.
and if you do use a mutiple socket make sure it is not the square plug in ones they will get extremely dangerous as the more you plug in the less likely they are to stay plugged in. a single 8 socket extension with a one meter cable should be used instead.

Ok nix the hair straightener.......but keep the nighlight and the lava lamp. The ambiance of the two is beautimous. The tv, dvd player and tivo have to stay plugged in too. So that just leaves the lamp and the computer. Heads or tails?????

*gets a fire extinguisher in the meantime*

Only if you exceed the amp rating of the main plug on each (i.e. 13 amps in the UK).

If your circuit breaker will accept the load (assuming it is the correct rating!) then the circuit is capable of handling it. If you have any doubts about the circuit i.e. it is a DIY spur to a double socket then I would be careful as I think that would only be rated to, as I remember, about 20amps which could be exceeded by 8 appliances.

Hope that helps

Do you need it all plugged in? yes definitely dangerous, the cables and sockets are not made to carry the potential load so get a qualified electrician to come and fit another outlet.

Yes it probably is. It depends on what each item is but with 8 you are likely to exceed the safe current for the socket

No. I have a four way adapter in one socket then a four way in the other socket and a four way in each of the four way sockets, so i have 14 plugs in at the one time. ( dvd player, video recorder,TV,Stereo,Playstation,Nintendo,Monitor, hard drive,Modem,speakers,2 Lamps,Mobile phone charger, vibrating vagina. Wow where the fuks all the smoke coming from.

octupus connection....

YES....dont even think just because appliances you plug in are low in consumption, or low in wattage, the fact is it is still running the average voltage..
8 appliances running a 110-220volts in 1 socket itll be overloaded...
