He chases his tail about 75% of the day. HELP!!

He chases his feet as well. Won't the hot dog just make him want to chase more. It wouldn't be so bothersome if he didn't bark when he does it.

Do you ever walk him/her? Sounds to me like your dog has developed an obsession due to lack of mental and physical stimulation. Dogs of any size and shape need at least 30 minutes of exercise per day just like people do! Dogs are pack animals and view the walk with their leader as a very primal/instinctual actvity; not participating in this sort of activity can cause instability in your pet (especially if you have not established yourself as the dominant one in your relationship already).
When you walk your dog they should always be either at your side or behind you (a dominant leader in a wold pack does not follow the submissive wolves). Another common mistake that dog owners make is allowing their pet to direct the walk. What I mean by this is that you should not stop walking just because your dog becomes interested in sniffing a tree or some grass or another dog. Your dog should stop only if YOU decide to stop. If your dog is already submissive and views you as the pack leader, the above should not cause any problems.
If 30 minutes of walking is not intense enough for your dog you may want to buy an appropriately sized doggy back back so that during the walk your dog will have a job to do (carry the pack). This job will require your dog to expend additional energy during the walk since he now has to concentrate on his job. Remember, dogs were originally selectively bred by people to WORK. A dog without a job can start to go stir crazy!
If a doggy back pack is out the question for you, you could also try walking him for a longer distance or rollerblading with you dog for 20minutes. Since you have a pug though you should remember that they can easily suffer from heat exaustion due to the shape of their noses. If your dog starts to show signs of fatique you should NOT push him forward! Always provide water during a long walk especially in the heat.
Lastly, remember that having a large backyard for your pet to "walk" in does not provide the same exercise and primal mental activity provided by a walk with their pack leader!
I hope this info was helpful,

Oh he's just playing. Maybe the pug is letting you know he needs more exercise, and hes trying to get your attention on chasing his tail and toes. TAKE THAT DOG OUT FOR A WALK, AND GO TO THE PARK WITH THAT PUG.

Tail chasing could be a sign of full anal glands. Some dogs will scoot there rear on the floor in order to get relief and some dogs will "chase their tail". This is an unconfortable condition that happens more often than we realize with many pets. Go to your vet and ask for your dogs anal glands to be expressed. It only takes a few minutes and dogs usually tolerate it being done to them.

well dogs chase their tail cause the get bored, or just go into a small stage of insanity. it is normal, but to get him to stop, play with him, take him for a walk in the park or for ride in the car and stuff, usually that will make the dog happy and they wont be as likely to chase their tail.

My vet told me dogs chase their tails when they are bored. Maybe you could get a squeaky toy or a bone? Then again, my sister has 2 pugs and they are insane anyway.... maybe it is a pug thing.

I had a pug as a child and he always chased his tail. He stopped doing it on his own.

My groomer calls that the shih tzu or Pug 500. My shih tzu runs around the table and then again and again. I would love to see that. I guess I'm just bored all day and that would give me something to do. Watch the dog go crazy.

He just likes having fun. Do pugs have tails anyways? Most I've seen, their tails have been chopped off.

try some hot sauce on the tip of it´s tail, I don´t think the pug would like the taste and will stop doing that.
