Yes. I don't believe in giving money to transients or beggars, but I believe in tipping people extra because they are working hard.
Always tip your wait staff and delivery people.

Sure. Anyone who goes the extra mile and goes the extra mile beyond the call of duty deserves something.

Yes, my parents do when they do more then they are really "supposed to do". It's also nice to give them something cold to drink during the hot weather once in a while, just to show appreciation for the job they usually do. My parents will give them bottled water or something like that sometimes during the summer.
By the way, anyone that doesn't think what they do is important - try living without garbage pickup for a month, and then see what you think.

Sure! I'm a caregiver, and one of the clients I take care of has a very steep driveway that the garbageman walks up to get her cans so she doesn't have to put them on the street. So she asked him what his favorite candy bar was, and she puts his favorite candy bar on the garbage lid every week :).

In general it's always best to tip any kind of worker, may it be the postman or gardener. A sign of respect.

Yes, as the son of a garbage man, i know that he treated the people better, that treated him better. They tended to be the people that had their barrels brought up to the garage on windy days and things like that.

Yes of course. Normally I do it at Christmas time. They provide a service just like the mailman - who also gets a tip.
