Yes. Read the story of Noah and the great flood. There are far too many disprepenceis to list here, but I assure you that it can be proven to be untrue.

They have had trouble proving it exactly right but can't even begin to prove it wrong. All the History Channel special's I've seen go into different aspects of the bible trying to disprove it only coming to the conclusion at so and so did actually live and do the things said (according to other references).

Take Noah's Ark. Hard to believe right? Then why do more that just the Chirstian culture believe there was once a world wide flood. According to researchers cultures all over the world believe the earth was covered by water at one time. The story of Noah's Ark is reference is so many different archeological texts and copied in some many subsequent religions (or ideas) that the the scholoars accept it.

There is no way to prove the Bible "wrong", or "right" - this is due to the fact that it is a document that has undergone MANY revisions, changes, translations, etc. - and it is a document of faith. Faith, with proof, is no longer faith - it becomes fact... and has no more spiritual value. That being said -
There are TONS of problems with the Bible, as far as inconsistencies, historical flaws, and references that make little to no sense. For example - in the book of genesis, plants were created on the third day, before there was a sun to drive the photosynthetic process. Or how about Genesis 9:3 "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you" - are there any parts of the Bible that forbid the consumption of specific meats? What about other human beings?
It is important to ask yourself questions, based on your own experiences of God and your own spiritual process, that question "the word of God" because there are many, many unseen influences that caused specific verses to be written - or interpreted - the way that they are. One good example is "is slavery OK?" If i interpreted the Bible literally, i would have arguements for both sides, but more for the side that said yes, have slaves. I think that we, as human beings, all know that slavery is wrong. What happens then?
If you have serious questions about the Bible and the development of Christianity, i would suggest that you read some good, non-biased historical texts (A History of God by Karen Armstrong is a GREAT one) as well as some inspired, illuminated faith-centered works. Eventually, you will find your answers, as will all of us.
Namaste!

This is like asking if anyone can proove with absolute evidence that the Greek Myths were true of false. It is a pointless exercise. The Bible is not meant to be taken literally. It is a metaphor, meant to teach spiritual truths. Whether it is historically accurate or not does not matter.

How about the way that the Israelites took Jericho? Historical evidence shows that the Israelites had slowly moved into the area. And that the walls of jericho hadn't collapsed in the way the Bible described but had been destroyed long before that.

Or how about the fact the exodus didn't take place in the Red Sea but in the REED Sea, which was a swamp further north and far easier to cross?

Well various forms of radioactive dating show the earth to be about 4.5 billion years old, and life to be about 1 billion yrs. old. Since the bible has each generation from Adam to Jesus, one could calculate that the bible "claims" the earth is about 6,000 yrs. old. Science has shown time and time again that this is impossible. Chemistry, geology, astronomy, biology, etc... all point to an earth that is billions of years old.

Leviticus 11:1-6 says that hares and coneys chew their cud. They are not ruminants and do not chew their cud.

Lev 11:13-19 says that bats are fowl. They clearly are not.

1 Chr 29:7 And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.
(This would be about 34 million Kg of gold, while I can't prove that this is untrue, it's farfetched enough as to be absurd)

Jesus' birth:
Matthew 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king. (Herod died in 4 BC)
or
Luke 2:1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
Quirinius became governer of Syria in 6 CE, ten years after king Herod's death.
They can't both be right

"This generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place" (Matthew 24:34, Luke 21:32

("these things" refer to the "second coming")

"Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who shall not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom" (Matthew 16:28, Mark 9:1, Luke 9:27).

which is the fact, judas returned the 30 pieces of silver and hanged himself (mathew 27:3-10) or judas bought a piece of land with the 30 pieces of silver but died accidentally when he fell down a ravine (acts 1:16)?

Well, common sense.... Does anyone really believe the story about Eve being made from Adam's rib? Or what about Jonah and the whale... I don't believe it, but it's a pretty story.
