Please only tell me your own experience not examples from the Bible or from people you know. First hand experience ONLY!

Tell me what you prayed and then what happened (and how long it took if you know--though that's not that important.)

As an added bonus, can you name an answer to prayer that you don't think would have happened if you hadn't prayed?

I prayed for comfort because someone I really love hurt me in a way that I never thought he would. I was so hurt, feeling so lost and ashamed. So, all I could think to do was pray and pray. God DID comfort me that night-all night long. He answered me by giveing me strength and lots of patience to handle the situation the right way instead of getting him back.

I get my prayers answered everyday, the important thing to remember is that some times the answer is no. If we got everything we asked for God would be more like a genie and not the Soveriegn Lord that he is. There are so many examples of how prayer has effected my life. Think about praying for a safe drive to work or for a double portion of strength to get you through a day where you are sick. I know as soon as the event I prayed for is over.

I was a new christian and did not understand that much about the bible. When I have a question about the bible I ask God to help me get the correct answer. When I prayed for this, the next time church was open the preacher would preach on the question I had ask God. I new this answer was for me. One time I was on a diet and I had to have so many cans of green beans. I was short 1 can. I had looked all over the cabinets for some but there wasn't any. I said OK GOD I need 1 can of green beans for my diet and you said if I ask I shall receive, so I'm asking you for that one can of green beans. I didn't have any money to buy anymore. I went to the cabinets and way in the back was one small can of green beans. Just enough to finish what I had started. That probably doesn't sound like much but it was what I ask for. He does answer prayers, always remember to ask in Jesus name amen. You ask in Jesus name at the end of your prayers because it is only through Jesus Christ that you can communicate to God. This is only a few things that have been answered.

Last year I got a rare form of strep throat where 1 in three people die. I was in the hospital for a week unconscious with a 105+ degree fever and my family prayed over me for 3 days (I was living in Champaign IL and they had to come down from Chicago) and after about 3 days I came to and I was 100% better. Doctors said at my stage most dont even wake up.

A prayer that wouldnt have been answered if I never prayed was for my ex to come back in my life. God kept granting my request until I realized its betetr for us to be apart. God knew it but He let me figure it out on my own.

First, you need to understand that God hears all prayers. Sometimes the answer is no. God will give us what we ask Him for if it is in line with His will for us.

I prayed that Jesus would dwell in my heart, and he does.

I prayed that God would provide me the translation skills I needed to use on a mission trip to Honduras. He did. Though I knew no medical Spanish, I was able to translate successfully for an English-speaking nurse. God provided me the brain power to understand what was being said and to find ways to say what needed to be said.

I prayed that God would bless our mission and provide the materials we needed to take with us. Our collection bins were full and we got the supplies we needed.

I constantly pray for patience and energy to do my job (teaching high school). I receive those things each day from God.

When I have prayed for my students who were in trouble for one reason or another, they have been helped.

When I have asked God to give me answers to problems that were troubling me, I have soon seen the right path. I have been able to make many difficult decisions this way.

Prayers are answered when you ask for things to help you serve God better. That is why we sometimes receive what we ask for, and sometimes we don't. I have been praying for healing for a couple of years now, since I was in a car accident. Instead of full physical healing, God has given me insight into what pain far worse than mine has done to others and how I can be a better person for the pain I suffer. I know that there is some reason I am still hurting, and that makes my spiritual life so much better.

I was an atheist for 30 yrs. I am a High School Math Teacher. One thing I know now is that nothing will break my faith. It will only grow exponentially.

Here it goes: I began learning the art of trading stocks, then moved on to trading futures, then moved on the the best of the best "Ceasars" --currency.
This that I'm about to tell you never had happened to me before, but it started happening. I had dreams and visions of me having done that job before. I even predicted exaclty what was about to happen the next day: for instance, I knew that the JapanVsUSDollar was going to go up at exactly 6:10am. I already knew how the JapanVsUSD graph looked like before I ever started trading. I thought I had found my dream job. I was waking up at night sweating and itchy, exactly five minutes before the Euro/Australian/Franc/Japan dollar was about to make its move.
Then, weirder stuff started happening. I was seeing shadows on windows, mirrors, walls, leaves, and would get a cold draft under my feet or my neck. No one believed me, not even myself, so I gave people proof since that is the first thing that comes from people's mouth. Actually, the first thing is are you doing drugs, are you stress out, are you hallucinating? blah, blah, blah

Well, to cut it short, see my 360. The bottom line is I developed this heat allergy. I could not do any work that required to much movement. I would get hot fast from the inside out, and get bumps all over my body even the face and head. I couldn't take it. I researched it, went to the doctor, but no one could explain it.

Later on He appeared before me. HIM. Jesus Christ himself twice. Once, before the punishment and another after he was beaten. This is why I say that "passion of the Christ depicts him the closest to any other movie, except that it was his other eye that was shut.
I am now healthier than ever, and am filled with love and joy. I don't do currency any more and am happier than ever. I feel that I have been given a second chance and will not do anything to blow it. Nothing.

I have been praying for a long time now that I would get the chance to see my dad again. It has been about two years. So the other day I got that chance and I was so relieved that I got to. Sometimes it takes God a while to answer your prayers. He knows what is right for you. Just remember one day to God could be like 1,000 years to us.

I was ten years old and broke my ankle on the trampoline. Well I went to the emergency room and they said that the ankle was broken, out of the ankle joint and the tibia and filbula broke, and the doctors said not going to walk again on that foot. They also said I would have to have the surgery where they put the pins in and I would be in phys. therapy for a long time. Well they put me into a swelling cast for a week then I went back and got an actual cast. A week later my sister told me that God told her that He healed my ankle. I was like huh? It just threw me off because she was only like 7 or 8 lol. But I believed her and so I started walking on it and I had no pain but the itches! So Im walking on it and the cast was all black and dirty cuz I played Basketball and stuff on it. I went to the doctor the end of that week and he was amazed on my x-ray results! He had never seen anything like it, it was completly healed and normal. So they took of my cast and let me go. Of course they gave me this rubber band to exercise my ankle, and everything is fine now, no problems. It is because I believed God and had faith even at ten years old and I was healed!

I prayed every night that I would win the custody battle for my daughter. It wasnt actually custody, her father basically walked out when she was 1 and then decided 6 years later he wanted her in his life. I had to go through a long court battle that cost my husband and I thousands of dollars. Every night I would worry and pray and I could hear or feel God telling me not to worry because he was going to fix it. I even told my friends that I felt like God told me not to worry. Sure enough, he lost the case, and my husband adopted my daughter. There are so many good things that God has done for me through prayer. Have faith in him, it works.
