Most of the East Indian women I've ever encountered (whether directly from India or are descendants from India who live in the "Western world" are generally snobbish, stuck up or full of themselves. Has anyone ever experienced this?

I'm half East Indian and half Puerto Rican.
I'm not stuck up, I'm very shy. I can't believe there are still people out there that will still ignorantly stereotype.
And I've used deoderant since I hit puberty.
I've seen white people who live in trailer homes and eat mayo sandwiches. Am I to assume all white people are like that?

It is because of their culture. Girls and women are to be seen but not talked to by men. Many cultures treat the females as second class citizens. I don't like it either but that is the way it is so have Patience with them. You can talk to them but approach with caution. Over here there are places where you would be arrested for talking to a woman in public. They can talk to you during job related matters but otherwise it is not easy. Families tend to bring their old ways with them when they go to another place. It takes a couple of generations for this to change.

The traditional ones are technically not allowed to associate with anyone other than their own race or religion. The few I've met had to sneak out just to be with me. It is not usually personal.

They aren't stuck up. They're either just shy or have erected a wall to protect themselves from unwanted male aggressiveness & disrespect. Or else they're just stuck up.
