Yes, you can. As a matter of fact, many colleges that require an SAT or ACT score on your application also require that the score is less than five years old. You level of life experience and non-traditional education will affect how well you do on the test: on the one hand, you've been out of school a while, and some of the topics are not as fresh in your mind as they were when you were still taking classes (particularly those who didn't do so well in math to begin with, or those who don't read many books in their spare time and who haven't developed their vocabularies further); while on the other hand, you may very well have learned a few things after leaving school that give you an advantage. Either way, it would behoove you to prepare just like a high-schooler would and take the exam now; I took it again seven years after I left high school and scored 60 points higher overall!

The SAT is before you graduate from High School, but the ACT is after you graduated and you don't want to take SAT. Then you can take ACT instead.

Yes, the ACT (American College Test) is used primarily for adults who enter college at a time other than immediately following High School. Don't know about the SAT

yes you can contact your local school board and ask about taking it. They should have the signup package or be able to direct you where to get it. i took the ACT 5 years after i graduated from high school.

yes, this week there was an article in the Chicago Tribune where one of the journalists took the SAT. You can usually register online.
