I know that the recommended rate of weight loss is 2 lbs. per week but I would like to lose it faster (like 4-7 lbs per week). But I'm afraid that I will have extra skin if I lose too fast. At 24 yrs. old, I've been told that your skin still has elasticity. How fast can I lose significant weight (I need to lose about 100 lbs) and not have any baggy unsightly extra skin?

4-7lbs of fat loss per week is not advisable nor is it easily achievable (you can lose water weight, but that is not healthy). Just tailor your workout routine to lose 2lbs of fat per week and if you happen to lose a little more then great. 100lbs of fat is a lot to lose, but I have seen it happen and since your "ideal" bodyweight at your height is about 155lbs (formula for a woman is 100lbs + 5lbs for every inch over 5ft tall) that should be possible. A lot of your extra skin will shrink back, but you may still have some loose skin but I guarantee you will be much happier without all that extra unneeded bodyfat. To put this in perspective, just think of it as you are carrying the equivalent of roughly 15 gallons of fat on your body every day. But you are young and now is the time to change your life and shed that extra unneeded weight. The best way to do this is to raise your metabolism which can only be achieved through building and maintaining muscle since muscle is the only thing in your body that burns calories (and it does it all day long including while you are sleeping). Fat does not burn calories. I recommend using a 3-4 day a week full body resistance exercise routine (ie. lift weights, preferably free weights where possible) and supplement this with some cardio and a healthy low-fat non-processed food diet. At the beginning of this workout you may not notice much change if you are paying attention to the weight scale, but this is because your body is gaining muscle while losing fat. You will instead notice the changes in the mirror and in how your clothes fit. But make sure you don't stop here. Keep going and your muscle gains will slow down (your body will come to a natural balance), but your fat loss will continue as long as you continue your workout routine and healthy diet. If you start to become bored with your workout at any time, change it up and add something new. Or try a new outdoor activity in place of a workout. Before you know it, you will have lost your weight and will be worrying about your pocketbook as you go out to find new clothes to fit your new great shape. Good luck.

The best diet I've ever tried is as follows ~

Breakfast~2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon & grapefruit juice
Lunch~Meat (not breaded or fried) green veggie & grapefruit juice
Dinner~ Same as lunch

Bedtime snack~ tomato juice or 1/2 cup skim milk

Portions can be large ~ if eating a salad any type of dressing is allowed. It's the combination of the foods that speed your metabolism up.

You stay on it for 12 days, off for 2. No smoking or alcohol should be used during this diet. No other snacks allowed during the 12 dieting days. A max of 2 diet sodas are allowed per day. Drink plenty of water. Give it about 6 to 8 weeks and you will notice the weight coming off quick! It takes a week before you start to lose the weight.

To keep your skin toned...try sit ups and lifting light dumb bell weights.

Let me know if you decide to try this and how much weight you lose.

Exercising is crucial, and should be done on a regular basis to strengthen the muscles, as well as to keep your body fit and in top shape. Though exercising has been proven to be a very healthy and effective means to bring about weight loss, not everyone will lose weight by exercising. This may come as a shock to you, or even make you disappointed, because you had placed so much effort into exercising - even tried your best to maintain consistency in order to get those pounds off. However, as beneficial as exercising is, it does not produce weight loss half of the time. "How is that? You may now be asking.

The real reason many people are fat has nothing to do with the lack of exercise or down to the fact that they are not on a healthy diet; it is because of parasites living in their colons. Parasites disrupt the regular digestive function of the body; as a result, the metabolism gets hampered, leading to excess fat build up. In many cases, when a parasite cleanse was done, people have reportedly shed huge amounts of their body fat quickly.

That big bulgy stomach is a direct sign of parasite infestation, its no wonder a lot of people have instantly lost belly fat after doing a parasite cleanse. So therefore, a parasite cleanse will cause you to lose weight without the need to exercise.

You're more likely to lose it, be healthy and keep it off if you lose it at the normal rate of about 2 lbs per week. Also, no matter how fast or slow you lose the weight you'll have extra skin.

Yes your skin still has elasticity but with any amount of rapid weight loss you will still have extra skin. The best thing to do is to exersize on a regular basis, keep your skin well hydrated. There is no way of not having the extra skin with that much weight loss, watch discovery health they have lots of shows with people who have done the same thing. The best thing is to be healthy and losing the extra weight is the best thing to do. Good luck and try to focus on your health not so much of how much weight to lose quickly.

sorry to say this but at ur current weight (260), u will end up having extra skin anyways, specially if u are planning to lose 6/7 pounds per week. usually people lose weight more easily at ur current weight, the skinnier u get the harder is to lose weight... my advice would be since u gonna end up with lose skin anyways.. lose all the weigh u need to lose and then do a tummy tuck that will remove all the extra skin u will have. after that, make sure to hit the gym and watch ur carbs..

note:
.if u lose 6/7 pounds per week, u will end up having more extra skin, than losing 2 pounds per week
. people who usually don't end up having extra skin after losing weights are the ones that are not that far from their ideal weight.

good luck, keep the hard work!
