Why would you want to keep your mind off of him?
What I mean is, you are going to miss him that is normal, but if you don't want to sit around moping about him what you could do is go out and enjoy yourself, doing things you like to do.
It's the summer time so why not go swimming, or go for a work out at the gym, or if you like to read, go to poetry shops if there are any close to you.
There is one more thing you could do and if it is possible, If you can talk to your guy on a regular bases why not set-up a regular time when you are to talk to each other example:
Every Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
That way you don't think about him so much til Tuesday comes around, believe me two months is not a very long time it will breeze by so quickly, as long as you fill your days with so much that when night time comes you will fall asleep right away.

hahahahahah! loved the batteries idea. Um, I hung out with friends alllll the time, to make up for the time I would have been with him, and I read more books. Books suck you in and before you know it, you've forgotten about everyone! Until you finish the story lol.

you don't try to keep your mind off of him. if you take your mind off of him, you will be much more tempted to cheat on him while he is away. you should just live with missing him, and talk to him via phone as much as you can. but don't try not to think of him. because that is one of the leading causes of infidelity in this world.

are you trying to find a new relationship while he is gone? if not why are you trying to keep your mind off of him?
