My skin is almost always red, and I'm always hot. People always make comments like "wow, you've been in the sun" or "geez, you turn red really easily". I know these are innocent comments, but they make me feel extremely self conscious. I have a very fair complexion (blonde hair, blue eyes). I'm ALWAYS hot and always feel clammy especially in public. I know that seeing a dermatologist is my best option, but I was curious if anyone else has this problem and how they've dealt with it. I'm ALWAYS red and ALWAYS hot, it makes me SO uncomfortable. I'm tired of feeling and looking like this, and I'm tired of the comments people make about how red I turn or how much sun I look like I've gotten...it's embarrassing.

I'm 26/F and have had this "condition" as long as I can remember. Sometimes I'm more concerned by the fact that I'm always uncomfortably warm.

Hard to answer without more history for you. Age, sex and conditions help to know more. Some people just flush more easily than others. Hormones have a lot to do with it and some times other conditions as well even medications etc. I am fair skinned as well and I turn redish "flush " on many occassions however mine is due to age now and your probably not as old as I. Dermatology is a good idea and to document when it happens so you can better tell them the occassions and give them better ideas. It may be other factors not even dematolgy but it is a good place to start.Take care, you are that abnormal everyone has little things or quirks, just some people won't talk about them.

You may have rosacea.
Rosacea (IPA:ɹÉÊ.Ëzeɪ.ÊÊ) is a common but often misunderstood condition that is estimated to affect over 45 million people worldwide. It begins as flushing and redness on the central face and across the cheeks, nose, or forehead but can also less commonly affect the neck, chest, scalp or ears. As rosacea progresses, other symptoms can develop such as permanent redness, red bumps (some with pus), red gritty eyes, burning and stinging sensations, small blood vessels visible near the surface of the skin, and in some advanced cases a bulbous nose. The disorder can be confused and co-exist with acne vulgaris and/or seborrheic dermatitis. People that are fair-skinned are disproportionately affected. Rosacea affects both men and women of all ages, but middle-aged women are more susceptible because of hot flushes caused by menopause.

Stop worrying about what other people think! A lot of times blonde haired, blue eyed people have very fair complexions. Go ahead and check with your dermatologist. When other people make snide comments about the way you look just tell them if they don't like what they see they can look the other way. That normally confuses them and they don't know what to say then.

Reading this, two things spring to mind. One, you are allergic to something in your immediate surroundings. and two, you might have scalded skin syndrom, although that last one is unlikely.
Go see a GP or a dermatologist.
