When I say that I am Catholic, I am giving you a bigger picture of my life.

I am a Christian who practices his faith in the Catholic tradition.

With love in Christ.

I had been a Catholic all my existence, and you are correct there's plenty of terrible ideas on being a catholic on solutions. But then their are plenty of terrible ideas right here approximately each and every faith and terrible ideas on being an atheist and terrible ideas approximately folks who suppose in not anything. I do not take it private, I want neither to shield nor remark, nor react to any of it. I am at ease in my ideals and nobody demands to consider me. I simply reply questions for a laugh, it isn't like solutions is a discussion board that's going to have an impact on any exceptional difference in any person someway. Enjoy the well, forget about the unhealthy and feature a laugh, allow others make judgments. Block your e mail from hate junkies and Internet bullies. We are all distinct and regularly Will be, and that is a well factor, existence could be so dull if all of us suggestion alike. Love and peace ladyhawk8141

Actually, I say I am a Catholic Christian. It's no different than someone saying, " I'm Baptist" or "I'm Methodist."

Why am I proud to be Catholic? (By the way, I have a bumper sticker and tshirts that proclaim this, too)

I am proud to be a member of the ONLY Church Jesus Christ founded while He walked this earth.

I am proud to be a member of the only Church that is led by a direct successor of the leader Jesus Christ put in charge of that Church before He Ascended to Heaven.

I am proud to be a member of the Church that cared enough about Holy Scripture to assemble it into the Bible for the entire world to learn from.

I am proud to be a member of the Church that ensures that the Mass is being offered every second of every day somewhere on the Earth...and that others worshipping each day with me are hearing the same scriptures I am.

I am proud to be a member of the Church that uses more scripture in a Mass than I have ever seen used in a Protestant service.

Most of all, I am proud to be a member of the Church that doesn't pick and choose when to take the Bible literally...that believes Jesus spoke every word to be understood...that gives me what Jesus promised--the Precious Body and Blood of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ every day when I approach the altar at Mass.

If someone asked me, I would say I am Catholic, but I would not say I am Byzantine Catholic. The reason is that you either get the response, is that orthodox or how are they different from Roman Catholics.

You answer you are Catholic because it gives others sufficient specificity to begin to understand you but not too much specificity as to be confusing. You could say you are Christian, but that doesn't really help people much, especially where I live where the percentage of Christians is really high.

The word Catholic is approximately equivalent to the Protestant term non-denominational but it has a richer meaning in Greek. To say you are Catholic is to say you are Christian. Usually when someone identifies themselves as Christian, they are Protestant. It sounds better.

It is Christian who separate themselves from catholics, not the other way around(although it is also true in some cases)

They both don't understand that it only creates segregation and animosity. I'm both and none. I follow G-- and Jesus Christ. I love some of the catholic man made laws used to respect G-- and Jesus, especially the praying on your knees, but lets not forget that they are simply that "man made laws" (then again, this was the model that Jesus gave to us)
It's just plain silly: Presbyterian, Methodist, pentecostal, Mormon, catholics, christian, protestant, roman catholics, etc it's just plain silly.
G--'s laws are the important ones.

The same way if someone walked up to me I'd say Seventh-Day Adventist. It's just a more exact way of saying what religion you are. Also it tells the people what exactly you believe. If I said Im a Christian then they'd have no clue.

Catholics are much better than Christians because they are not uptight little pricks.

Yes we do go to Church.
Yes we do believe in God.
No, we are not as uptight, there IS NO REASON TO BE.

Every Christian I know does not believe in Evolution, ALWAYS preaches to me about every little thing I do wrong, and believes it's wrong to be homosexual or anything that Christians aren't.
No one wants that.
It's stupid.

But, I'm sure there are normal ones out there.

Could say the same thing about someone who says "I'm protestant" or "I'm baptist". People say that too, they're being specific, what's the big deal? The different sects of christianity certainly differ enough to warrant it. You probably don't think the same thing about catholics as you do about... jehovah's witnesses, now do you?

This question assumes there is something wrong with the act of identifying oneself as a Catholic. There's nothing wrong with that.
