Some parents tend to make the older child the responsible child .The best you can do is to be honest and do not overly defend yourself in these situations. During a quiet moment with your mom , you might talk this over with her . Let her know that you feel helpless in these situations and ask for suggestions.

Because the parents think they get to put some of their responsibilities off on the older child to help raise the other children. They want them to set a good example, watch out for, and stop what ever bad things that's going on. And if you don't than they say your irresponsible. Well, I say who's the parents anyway? Who should be doing all these things themselves?

I guess because the older child is always supposed to watchover the younger one, but I dont know I'm the younger child between me and my bro and sis.

I believe its because normally we favour the youngest ones and have the notion that they should be protected most. Some times we cannot admit to the fact they they too do wrong doings, therefore blame the older one automatically.

Older children r supposedly responsible and more mature it's true. But parents don't understand that they ren't perfect. You will always be blamed for stuff ur sibiling you will nvr be right trust me i don't understand y we get blamed it makes no sense. Try talkin to your parents and explain to them that u weren't wrong and if they still think u r try jus gonna have to live with it.

Because parents seem to operate on that the youngest one can NEVER lie and when the sibling points the finger, guess where it's going to be pointing.

Thats not true i am the youngest of 5 and I always get blamed for EVERYTHING!!!
