I think the doctor can get in trouble if someone higher up found out about it. There's a code of ethics involved. The patient could just be using the doctor to get prescriptions out of them or something. The patient should probably change doctors.

The Doctor should just drop the person as a client and then date them....but not at the same time. The Doctor would be extremely vulnerable to a law suit.

Of course! Its not like a school teacher and a student relationship. Its fine as far as the client is a major.

No, they can't. It's unethical and the doctor could lose is license to practice. It's a general rule that you should not date your clients. Wether it's a medical or pychotherapist.

I would say so, if you care for someone then it doesn't really matter if the two of you are also involved professionally, this is 2006, busines and pleasure are mixed all the time now days. Don't let a good one get away just because of a professional relationship!!!

Maybe you should tell what medicine the Dr. practices, and you say if it's mutual, tells everyone this is not just a date, for you would not go if it was not mutual agreement, it says that other things are involved. or you think they are going to be involved... Pretty dangerous territory.

Good question - I would think it would be against the code of ethics. But then again... I'm sure some doctors treat their significant others. Change docs - game on.

First of all, it depends on what kind of doctor, and also the age of the person he wishes to date. But, under "healthy"(lol) circumstances, I don't see why not.

No, Hippocrates law says no!, it is supposed that as a professional they will not date or have a date with their clients...
This is what they must do, not what they can do...

No. It's an abuse of authority as well as illegal for a doctor to have a relationship with a patient.
