My granpa wielded twin PPshs in the war while holding off germans at the volga. He's a huge hulking bear of a man.He also Had twin lugers, but he says he didn't get the chance to kill any kraut-eaters withit. If the germans got within range of the lugers, you were already dead. He's a hero of the Soviet Union.

No they did not. Contrary to what video games and Hollywood would have you think, shooting a gun in real life isn't that simple. FBI studies have shown that in a real fire fight at close range (being within 5 feet), a trained professional will miss 80% of the time. And that's with one gun. There are a LOT of factors that video games and Hollywood don't take into consideration. A person's reaction to stress, their emotional make-up, their physical reactions, eye sight, the way they squeeze the trigger
I spend hours at the gun range and use the pretty much the same guns (9mm HK USP 89, .380 Beretta, and a Glock 22), and I can never get the same results.
So as to firing two weapons, you can do it, but you're only going to hit 2 things jack and crap.

I really enjoyed the comment "Quit playing video games and read a book." Very fitting. No one "dual wield" weapons in WWII or now. It is not, and was not uncommon to carry a pistol as a secondary weapon system, but you only use this if your primary weapon system malfunctions or runs out of ammo.

it's not simple but when you are pissed off and desperate yes they did it was not an official strategy, but my grandfather has told me stories of his buddies and his dual wielding thompsons I believe they are called during WW2. He found it lying on the ground and it only had a few rounds left but whatever works right?

It wasn't unusual to have two weapons at your disposal, however you do have to consider the extra weight of the ammunition you're going to be carrying that won't fit in your standard ammunition pouch.
It is simple, but is it worth the extra bulk and weight?
PS- What is this with the ignorance? Kraut-eaters? I prefer that to caviar.

No, because not only are weapons heavy when held up for long periods of time, they also require two hands to reload a weapon.
