With all the unrest in the MiddleEast should the USA conquer Iran while we have the military and equipment there, The USA has had to enter Iraq a second time because we didn't finish the job during the 1991 gulf war. Will we learn form our past mistakes and complete the mission or in 3 years will we have to start over and attack Iran ? I am not saying war is good or bad just that by not occupying and conquering effectively do we have to go back later and fix the mistake.

Just to set the record straight I was in Baghdad as a civilian contractor, working in the security and justice sector REBUILDING Iraq, We end up doing double work all the time cause the job wasnt done correctly, Had we killed Saddam in 1991 we wouldn't have had to go back again. Iran is a threat NOW if we squosh them now it will be easier, and cheaper then in a few years

Eventually we will, but for now our leaders are trying diplomacy. I hated we didn't finish the job during our first tour there when we were so close, but that's the way it is, unfortunately.

The USA does not engage in wars of aggression. We have entered into war only when diplomatic efforts failed, such as when Saddam mocked the entire world by thumbing his nose at 17 stern UN resolutions against Iraq.

Condaleeza Rice is a formidable Secretary of State, and I have every confidence that she can negotiate a peaceful settlement with the Iranians.

One way we are combatting the grotesque ignorance and backwardness of Iran's Ayatollahs is through the media. A tv program is being broadcast their to open the eyes of the Iranian people to the truth.

There was no need to return to Iraq in 2002. Saddam had no WMD and was no threat to the United States. Now, 30,000 people are dead. For what?

Attacking Iran will surely kill another 30,000 people and turn any Muslims who don't already hate the United States further against the U.S. Then, you'll have to invade Syria and, soon after, Egypt and Jordan after revolutions throw out their pro-US governments. The US is verging on bankruptcy now; 10 more years and four more countries would probably finish the job.

And that doesn't even count on the rise of China or non-states attacking the US.

I think war with Iran would end American hegemony and put the US on par with France, England and Germany.

nope , I think you should reform your government cuz the US has become a greater threat to the world than Iran will ever be [with its alleged first nuke in 10 years from now]

In fact the US should disarm its nuke s- over 12 000 of them- It should also cease its militarization of space because now all nations are going for an arm race- no one trusting the US-- because of its history over a 55 years period of using WMD against its neigbors..and other nations.

Tuboweegee , what kind of support are you suggesting ? I hope Your support does not authorizes Terrorism against Iran..

This will be putting the US as the agressor..What make you think that muslim dont like Mullah ? Open your eyes : where ever the american intervened, the muslim population elected the most radical and fundamental islamists!

Hamas were elected in Palestine
Iran elected Amandine the Bad
Iraq elected the Shiites ( same people as Komeini wanted for Iraq)
Pakistan, Egypt is shifting toward radicalism and anti-americanism..

Its not the arabs fault!

Young man, the US lost Iraq..! You should kkep your moral support to the Mexican immigrants [ the slaves] and the poor the US gorvernment made when it implented the free trade agreement with Mexico..

US problem with immigrants ? very simple: the US created these poor people!

Hm........in my honest to God opinion.....H3LL! NO! The Iranians are alot stronger politcally and militarily than the Iraqis. Granted, we could probably win a war against them, but then we'd have the same thing we now have in Iraq. Insurgents.

And one more thing. I believe in what our troops are doing in Iraq. All you people who diss the military on every little thing that goes on and what's gone wrong, have no clue what really is going on over there. I will admit me, neither do I, but I am a future soldier as well. A bit biased I know, but I also know a guy who has been over there, and whenever someone disrespects the troops, or the reasons we're over there, it pisses me off. And no, we're not over there for the oil, contrary to what most people think. We are over there to fight terrorism, and to make the Iraqi peoples' lives better. Right now, it might not seem that way, but later on in the future, it will be.

No. Because we don't have to. The Iranian people are increasingly sick and tired of the mad mullahs and their puppets. What we have to do is support the Iranian people, financially, and through supporting actions.

Speeches against the mullahs and supporting the people, and broadcasting them on the Voice of America, and financially helping those who seek democratic government in Iran. We need to do all this first, before deciding upon military action.

The Iranian people protest every day against the government, for failure to pay wages, and for locking up people seeking democracy.

Should not all Americans lend their moral support to the oppressed Iranian people?

No. The USA should focus on it's own problems. Why are we spending so much money on trying to conquer another country when they can't even handle this one...Our education system for example, needs a great deal of funds. I just think it is plain stupid trying to conquer Iran. Iran doesn't want to be conquered...just leave them alone and focus on what is important- us!

What gets to me the most are the young men that are there to fight for a cause that it's not even a cause. Our Marines, our brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers.

The U.S. will be there till at least the end of 2007.It gives us time to deal with the issue. I believe we will be in a better position to know exactly where that government stands, then our government will be able to take appropriate action if necessary.

wH@T.would u like it if your neighbors invade in your house cause they couldn't just complete their previous mission of stealing. You should think about this neutrally rather than being selfish,.Would you like it if total 52 Muslim countries invade America? The question you asked is sorry but very illogical. You're asking whether we should kill Iranians or not.Go get a life n a selfless one please. And don't forget Wheel of time does spin.
