There are only 2 methods to removing permanent hair color from your hair. Neither of which should be attempted at home. Color correction is a difficult job, even for seasoned proffessionals. The first method is a proffessional product that allows artificial hair color molecules to shrink and be shampooed out of hair. Some of them are called Modulat, Phantom, or Elimin-8. The second method is Pre-lightening, or "bleaching" the hair. This does not have to be as scary as it sounds. Bleach is a tool, and can be used to lighten hair virtually damage free in the right hands.
If the problem is that you are trying to remove a bright color, such as a manic panic or punk color. Those 2 methods can actually make the problem worse. Bleach will push those crazy colors deeper into the hair cortex. Those colors need to be drawn out with an ammonia wash of some type. In hairdresser terms, a 10N with 30volume peroxide would work.
But, the safest way to save your hair is go darker. There might even be ways of creating illusion with highlights. Generally there are quite a few options. Definately ask a professional first.

Nope. There is no way to remove permanent hair color. Once you dye you hair, the dye chemically changes the color of your hair. The only way to get rid of that hair color is to dye your hair another color (which doesn't always work well), but that will damage your hair severely.

You can buy some color remover, but you will need to put a color over it and you should use this only if you didn't like the color. But if you just want your color out because you don't want it in there anymore than you'll have to let it grow out and then cut it off. Sorry :(

you could go to your hair salon for a professional to do it or if you trust yourself or a friend enough go to any store that sells hair dye and look for a box labeled hair color removal kit, it wont take you back to your natural color but it will strip out the hair dye and make it so your hair is ready for a new color.

The best and most safe way to remove hair dye is to go to a good salon. Not only are they the professionals, they know what products they can put on your hair without causing any damage to it. Also, it's best to have a professional look to see what type of product you used and see if any further evalution is needed.

you can either use a color remover, but it's very harsh and sometimes lifts your natural color. i'd try dawn diswashing soap, it helps the color fade faster for some reason. just make sure that you use a very good conditioner afterwards. like a deep conditioner. and you could actually use the dawn every week of every other week, just make sure to deep condition it!

You have to let it grow out or pay to have a hairstylist strip the color from your hair.
