I had it 11 years ago and have kept my weight off. I had friends and knew of people who had it done and most of them gained theirs back. Why? I'm not trying to be high and mighty or anything. I just don't understand how anyone could go through that much risk, pain, ext and not keep it off. Any insight?

Gastric bypass is only for the serious people who are willing to lose weight and have a very changed lifestyle. It is better to lose the weight slowly because some people end up With gallbladder problems with fast weight loss. My sister-in-law had this and she is really looking good, but the cosmetic surgery to tuck the skin where the fat used to be is very expensive and paid for by insurance.
