If he gives you money it should be because he cares about you and wants you to have it - a gift. If he uses his gifts as something to hold over your head then that's being controlling...to a degree. If he does that type of thing a lot and it's bruising your feelings then I'd let him go.

I'd be having a real good hard think about what you just asked lovey, sounds to me like a bit of a control freak, quote me if ya want cause l looked it up via Yahoo! search but him going balistic about money is called economic abuse, and that's one of the types of domestic violence that l've just read about. Be careful lovey l speak from experience.
If you're game you could try doing the following (but take this as a joke and don't really do it if he really is the violent type) next time he asks for the money tell him 'finders keepers loosers weepers' but run real fast after saying it cause he just could take a swing at ya for being a smartarse.

No because one day he's going to ask you to marry him and then will he ask for the ring back when he gets mad. I wouldn't be mad at the fact that he took the money back i woould be mad because he keeps doing it. You should tell him why offer something that eventually your going to want back....

I wouldn't stick with i guy who got mad all the time over minor things. I wouldn't stick with a guy who was cheap and chose money squabbles over a good time with me. I wouldn't stick with a guy who didn't absolutely adore me and treat me with love and respect.
Honey, you deserve the best. Love (real love) is waiting out there for you!

uh. . . .this issue doesn't quite seem like something that would necessarily break the camels back, but i'm betting dude has other issues (need for control & insecurity). . . so yep, a girl should bounce under these circumstances.

The guy sounds like he has a personality disorder. Talk to him about how you feel about this and see how he acts to it and if he doesn't understand then he never will.

Yes. If you borrow something, you should always return it. The phrase "what's yours is mine and what's mine is yours" does not apply until you are married.
