I agree with you whole heartedly. I think you create your destiny and sometimes that includes a personal Heaven and a personal Hell. We all are creative of our outcome in any / all lives. I'm sure we fit into a bigger picture that most of us here cannot fathom, but it all revolves around love and if that's not part of your life at some point I believe you're destined to a personal Hell. I don't need any religion to help me understand this. When I say Hell I don't mean a fiery chasm where people burn for enernity...nor do I mean a place where an evil horned creature tortures you. I very simply mean a place that is unhappy and unfulfilling to your heart and soul. Some people find this place and choose to find a way out through Love and some people find this place and choose to do harm to themselves and others. In any case... I certainly don't believe in most religions concepts of Heaven and Hell.
And I believe answers like the one below mine are the most pressing reasons why the world in in the shape that it is. People who endorse Guilt, Suffering and Repentance in the name of God are responsible for the Suffocation of other Souls. Life can be daunting enough without Holier than Thou assholes prancing around preaching the good book to you and expressing that you're going to Hell where the Evil horned creature tortures you for eternity if you don't "repent" or convert to the "right" faith. As if a "proper" faith exists. News flash to all of the bible banging whack jobs out there... If I want to worship a tree or a rock or Krispy frickin Creme Donuts, I'm not goin to Hell. And if for some reason there is a Hell and I go to it... I'll be sure to see all of you there!

I believe that we create heaven and hell HERE. You have no idea what will go on once you leave this place, so I recommend making the best of what you have here.....its called the Present (another word for "gift", btw) for a reason.
By the way, if you believe in God, you know that He is all knowing, all loving all caring all FORGIVING, all seeing. So He KNOWS that you are good....and even if you were not, he is all forgiving. It makes a nice catch 22, but I would just follow the code of ethics that you feel comfortable with. The 10 commandments is a good start.
Just do the best you can in this life, and help the well-being of as many as you can, and take the focus off yourself, and you will always be rewarded.
Cheers!

Doing good works has never been and never will be enough to get into heaven. Not believing in a guy named Jesus will also keep you out of heaven. The Bible says that the road to heaven is very narrow and many people do not find it and if they do find it many of them fall away because they choose different paths off of the narrow road. Past lives is satan's way of getting you off of the narrow road and has convinced you beyond any shadow of doubt that you have lived before in a previous life. Satan has deceived you and thousands more in the same way. The Bible clearly states that it is appointed once for man to be born and die and then the judgement. Men are born, men die and then they ALL go to judgement. Some of the men that gave their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ will go before the Judgement Seat of Christ and be rewarded for their good works, then the other men will go to the Great White Throne Judgement because they did not put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and will be cast into the lake of fire which is called the second death. No, just being good doesn't get it with God because God says you are to be perfect as He is perfect. If you were perfect THEN you could go into heaven when you died. But, since you are not perfect you cannot enter into God's presence because you are sinful and there is absolutely NO SIN in God's presence. So then you ask the question, "If no one is perfect including Christians, how can they go and exist in the presence of God?" The answer is because Jesus Christ, God's Son, lived a perfect life while He was on earth. God saw that He lived a perfect life and was pleased with Him and decided that anyone that put their trust into the perfect righteousness of His Son by accepting that Jesus died for them on the cross and paid for their sin, then He would count them as righteous and would look at all Christians through the blood of His Son Jesus that was shed on their behalf. So, Christians aren't anymore clean then non-saved people they have just been justified by faith in Jesus Christ. That is how Christians will be able to live with God in heaven. The Christian does not depend upon works to get them into heaven because there isn't anything that a person can do that will make God say, "O.K. now you've done enough and you're finally good enough to come into my presence." No. It is by faith that all people are saved and not by any kind of work so they cannot brag about it. The two biggest stumbling blocks for someone to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior are: 1) They have hard time believing in a God they cannot see and 2) They have to accept salvation without earning it in any way.

Jesus isn't just a guy....Jesus is God, incarnate, born as a human into our world. The label of Christian does not necessarily make one a true follower of Jesus Christ because it is in how we love others, serve others, and care for all our brothers and sisters, regardless of race, religion, etc. There are many who are good, kind, loving people who do follow the Gospel of Jesus even though they do not label themselves as Christian and as such, God will be the ultimate judge of each one of us at the end of our lives.

All men and women are born sinners. The only way anyone goes to heaven is to ask God for forgiveness of your sins. It will not matter what religion your in if you truly, in your heart believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and rose again from the grave. Jesus took on the sins of all men when he died for you. All you have to do is ask for forgiveness and ask him to come into your heart and you shall be saved. He is coming back and time is growing closer. Look at the signs.

God doesn't judge you for what faith you are, how you pray, or even what building you worship in. It all comes down to just one thing. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour? Without Jesus, it doesn't matter how often you pray, tithe, do good works, etc., you will still find yourself in hell.
