Crime is up because society has done away with discipline
cant spank kids at home
schools cant correct behavior
Remove all right and wrong and society implodes

It has gone down in most of the US. It went up where you are because the people that came last year to Houston from New Orleans were from the bad part of that city. Sorry you got the worst of the worst from the most crime ridden city in the US.

Good question. Houston's crime increase is attributable to the tens of thousands of new residents since hurricane Katrina. It makes me wonder if FEMA is going to foot the bill for public defenders for the next decade. Because if they think I'm going to pay for it with higher property taxes, I'm leaving Harris County and I doubt I'll be alone according to discussions I've had with other residents.

well, ya gotta get the money for that gas to fill your tank someway . I think the crime rate will get worse too. The interest rates going up and the wages stay the same at these lousey jobs that the people that couldn't go to college have to work at. Its just sick when you think of the trillions of dollars going out of the U.S. when it could be used for people hear but god forbid that cause that might be labeled welfare!!! Bush has the deficit run so high we will need backhoes to dig out .
