Stay Active! I have had the same problem and I realized that the only time I gained weight was when I was staying active (playing soccer). This is especially good for you because you are gaining muscle by staying active and not getting a gut.
P.S. Stay away from the sugary and fatty foods.

A high calorie diet high in sugars and low fiber starches should produce weight gain. It does in most people. You can buy a drink all Ensure that is designed to put weight on people.
If lean mass is what you are looking for, then a high protien diet and a weight lifting program should do it.
if none of these options work, you should go see a doctor. You may be suffering from something like hyperthyroidism.

You're doing nothing wrong at all.
Each person has their own metabolic rate in which the transfer of food into raw energy is different. Some people have a slow metabolism, where the food they eat is slowly turned into energy. The excess food is quickly stored into fat to be processed later. For those "blessed" with a higher metabolism, they process the food into energy quickly and rather efficiently. As such, most food eaten is never turned to fat.
If you're finding that the foods you are eating aren't giving you the satisfaction of gaining some extra weight, try visiting your doctor and discussing with him/her a diet that will help you out.
Also, working out will add some lean and bulk muscle mass to your body; effectively giving you some added weight.
As always, check with your doctor to see what is going to be "just right" for you. You'll want to discuss your caloric intake with your doctor, to see if you need to increase your calorie intake, or if you need to adjust some of the other things in your life.

You're either eating the wrong things or not enough. Try eating regular meals and shooting for 2400 cal a day. You can use supplements between meals. Check with the local gym to see what they recommend for weight gain. Sometimes they carry a good stock of products or can point you in the right direction.

Some people are just genetically predisposed to being extremely thin. Your body has a "base" weight that it will strive to maintain. I know a thin girl who gained 60 lbs while pregnant and lost it all within one month. She wanted to keep some of the weight, but didn't. When you get to your thirties, your metabolism will slow down, so you may be able to gain weight then.

A lot of good answers in here. I would definitely agree on the staying active portion. Keep up your activity; whether it be lifting, running, or sports. Try increasing red meat or steak in your diet, along with a good caloric increase as well. More pastas, oats, even eating more potatoes may help. Also add in some kind of supplement, whether it be a protein or mass-gain drink.

Eat a lot of concentrated sugars. Eat high fat foods. Don't drink water when sugar sweetened soft drinks are available. AND sit in front of the TV all day. Don't even get up to change the channel - use the remote. AND certainly be sure not to exercise.

I didn't realize that females have similar problems as males in that they want to gain weight. The status quo in society is that women want to lose weight and men want to gain it.
My wife has a similar problem in that her metabolism is through the roof. However, there are only some things that she would like to gain from this weight gain. The first and foremost weight that she would like to gain is in her breast area. However, one can not correct their genetic make up--as of yet, atleast. The other place, is the wonderful glutious maximus.
I give this as an example to you as to controlled gains and in the end to provide you a few ideas as to how to improve those areas.
Now in the chest (breast) area, recommending serious chest exercise programs may build your chest, but what you're looking for may not be realized and may actually be counter-productive for a female :-) ... atleast if she wants to stay a sex symbol.
For this, I recommend a breast enlargement. This is what my wife wants regardless of how much I assure her that her breasts are fine. I've grown to live with it (and the countless programs that we have watched together of other breast enlargement patients) because in the end, she has to live with her body. Furthermore, one doesn't have to enlarge their breasts to a Dolly Parton status for satisfaction! Again, if this is one of the areas that you're citing as a place that you would like to gain weight, then begin research on that and see what's right for you; ensure that you're comfortable and take steps to ensure that you get exactly what you want...
Start saving!
As far as the buttocks goes, most men (or maybe just me) appreciate a rear-end that is in shape. It doesn't matter if it's a small round object, or a medium round object. Bigger butts require more maintenance, so I'm sure that you don't want to find yourself getting naked and exposing serious "cottage cheese." That just wouldn't make sense...
Although there are butt implants, I believe, just try running and/or high repetition leg presses and leg lifts.
In the end, I think that you're fine just how you are. In America, there is a mass movement to gain what you're trying to lose (or lose what you're trying to gain, depending on your perspective). Working out and being active is a great way to keep your heart in shape and your muscles toned even if you aren't successful gaining weight doing as such.
I'm a high-metabolism male, so my manhood it seems is displayed through my physicality. However, my mentality is normally the way in which this is portrayed, and I've lacked nothing in that approach.
I presently work out and am desperately trying to find an attainable gym in my area. In the meantime, I am left with push-ups, crunches, and dips to appease me. Although it may not help me gain a remarkable amount of size or weight, it will keep me in shape, and that should be the goal of anyone...even those of us who aren't bombarded with groups of fat cells...
Email me for any further information or suggestions...
Hope that helps!

My sister in law has a thyroid problem that keeps her from gaining weight. Talk to your doctor ask him to run tests. You may need medicine to fix things.

Talk to your doctor. I had the same problem, but eventually your metabolism will slow -- eat a lot of meat, cheese, and dairy.
