Unless there is something stated in the will that anything left to her(the ex-wife) becomes null and void in the event of a divorce, she'll need to get it redone.

Seriously though, she needs to talk to a lawyer. Wills are serious business and she needs to know she's doing the right thing.

You divorced your wife, I assume your mother has your wife in her will somewhere? All she has to do is rewrite the will and have it signed by a notary. Check your state statutes for probate law/wills to find out what is accepted. She most likely can do it herself or have her attorney do it.

You're called Jane and you have divorced your wife?

What?

Anyway, divorce doesn't annul a will the same way marriage does...

so, you are not gonna divorce because of your moms will? Don't let them catch-22 you. Do what you felt is what is best for you.
