First, don't use short cuts when typing. Practice using correct english when ever you communicate.

Being an Eng is really harder than you might think. No one ever knows what you do. My Uncle was an Eng for years and always had to answer stupid questions like "Is that short for Engineering or English?". We would laugh when he said there was no difference between the two or when he said "Both". Ha ha, yes being an Eng has its priviledges, that's for sure.
So, study hard, party a little but never lose sight of the fact that you are about to embark on one of the most confusing and popular fields of study anywhere.
When you hit the peak of Eng-dom, don't forget all the people who helped you along the way.

Well, one piece of advice I would give first is to not use internet shorthand when you are asking a question. It makes it difficult to understand... I am guessing you mean engineering college? Mechanical or chemical, or a trade school?
I would do research to see what the future job opportunities of the fields are to see if it is one I would be happy in. Then I would look into colleges, and keep an open mind. Budget is a major consideration. Study hard... one of the things that helped me get a high grade in all my chemistry classes was copying my notes over very soon after I got back to my room. It helps to cement the knowledge in your mind, especially when it's fresh. Don't party too hard, but don't spend all your time stuck in your room either... you need a social life to blow off some steam.

No to be insulting, but learn how to express yourself when writ ting. Your question shows too much time spent in chat rooms an IM'ing people. The shorthand jargon will only hold you back should correspondence with schools be needed or just putting yourself out there for feedback. Is the word "eng" to mean engineering? One person's abbreviation is another person's riddle. Good luck.

I've been there.
Those that do best have a passion for science and math. Tests are difficult, because you can only study the formulas and methods....every problem is unique.
This is not a major for partiers; you simply won't make it through.
The reward is a true understanding of the real world. In addition, if you do well, you'll walk straight into a well paying job.

hi,
i m also abt to join an engg college and i wud like to pass on advice tht i had from my siblings and elders. frm ur name, i m assuming tht u r in India.
number 1: Find ur way thru out ur college first and then tramp the place where u'll be studying to find out where the best shops for daily necessities, food, restaurants, etc, etc are.
number 2: if u r ragged in a normal friendly way, ie. made to sing a song or give ur intro. or made to wear full sleeved shirts in the heat of India, play up. its OK and normal and by retaliating, u'll spoil ur relations with ur seniors who will prove to be helpful later on. If ragging is done in an unacceptable way, report it to the toll-free number we have in India.
number 3: dont make the mistake of socializing too much immediately.. choose ur friends wisely and when u r settled and involved in ur routine, then u can go back to watever ways u like... the bottomline is dont let the freedom get into ur head.. it can get unpleasant later on.
No. 4: engg needs constant hard work... dont put off things till just b4 the exams.. we cud get away with tht in std X and XII but not here.
No. 5: choose clothes suited to te climate where u'll be going.
Bye. Hope u have a nice time in college.

DO good in Calculus class... I have heard several professors over the years say that they weed out candidates using the grades for those classes.. especially Calculus II

analyse your interests seriously and then do some research on the streams. choose your branch only then. getting a good rank and going for electronics, computers or mechanical just 'coz of that is suicidal
