Who heard that this morning on CNN it said that if you put a mentos in a 1 liter of coke it will explode.... Has anyone been brave enough to try it?

I've tried it. the coke does not explode, but it does create a, "geyser" of soda if you will. The soda shoots up about 12 inches, and dies back down into the botte in about 3 to 4 seconds. Very entertaining.

i had seen on tv show, they had tried the same thing with "pop rocks" and coke, and nothing happened. i haven't heard it with mentos, but now, i'm thinking of trying it, lol

yes. it is true. there is some video on the web showing what happens. i have not tried it yet but will soon. sorry, i dont have the link of the video, it was a few weeks ago but you might want to try CNN.com
