There must be a reason you two broke up, right? It seems to me that you should spend some time today alone before you see him and try to center yourself. Think about the relationship and why it ended. And most importantly remind yourself that you are ok by yourself. No matter what feelings you have for him still you are strong and independent. When you see him you don't have to hide your feelings but you can also show that you don't need him. Right now try to imagine a future where you are friends with this guy and you have a bf who is even better than him. What is different in that future bf from this guy?

First off why did you break up with him and if it was for a bad thing then why would you even be interested in going out with him again. Now if you broke up with him over something that would be considered silly then your seeing him would be a good time to make up and get started again. And remember this there is no law that says you have to see him if it is against your will.

If you still have feelings for him and don´t think you want to be with him then i really suggest not to go see him. As you said it will be incredibly akward and it will most likely be REALLY hard on you. Also, if you don´t want to be with this guy then the hardest way to get over him is if you still see him. But in the end, you just really have to follow your heart

Don't see him. It will be awkward and you'll end up hiding the awkwardness by doing stuff you would do if you were still together (i.e. hold hands, hug, kiss, sex, etc). So call off seeing him.
