Okay, here's the deal: I'm a recently separated 46 year old guy, look a bit younger, still have all my hair and am an artist. Not into materialism and consider myself young at heart.
Is it that wierd that I want to date a woman in her late teens or early twenties? I'm not a user, I just prefer talking to women in this age range.
Will all you ladies (around that age) think I'm just some old pervert? Do I have a chance?
I'm college-educated and pretty confident in most ways, I just don't want to make a complete fool of myself.
Thoughts, please...

I can't believe I have to clarify this: I stated LATE TEENS. That means 18 or 19, nothing illegal about that. I don't want to date children, I can't believe anyone would infer that from what I wrote.

I am well past that age at 35, but I have always been attracted to older men. Right now I am friendly with a man who is 49, and that's kind of stretching it for me. I did date a man who was 56, and that seemed a bit older, but it really depends on the people involved.
I think if you get a chance to be involved in some sort of group where there are young people involved, you will start making friendships and then dating people of this age will be a natural outcome.
Just a note, some of my male friends find it difficult dating younger women because they want children and the guys don't. You might want to think about that.
Hope this is helpful, best wishes to you!

I don't think it's necessarily wierd that you want to date younger women BUT 46 and your looking at late teens, early twenties?? This age group is still growing up and they may be fun in a lot of ways but there are just as many late twenties to thiry somethings out there that might more fit your style....see, I just can't imagine dating anyone younger than 33 yrs. I prefer older men who can still act young at heart but that you can have intelligent conversations with.....how much in common can you really have with that young of a person....besides the sex of course?
If you are only seperated then you should really not even be pursuing going after anyone right now....ESPECIALLY someone younger in that age group because they are so vulnerable and may be looking for more than you can give right now. I know that I would want someone who is definitely divorced so that I would not have to worry about another woman in the picture....but if your looking for something more casual and non-committal...I would be VERY upfront from the beginning with anyone that you start a relationship with....women or "girls" hate to be lied to.
Good Luck there Sparky!!!

Well first off, I think there is a big age difference there and if you looking for a long term relationship it could be really hard, considering that you would be the age of these girls father. I'm in my mid 20's and probably wouldn't consider dating someone your age. Just too much like dating a father figure or somthing. plus I'm just not into someone that age! But there are girls out there that like older men. I guess it all depends on the chemistry between you two I guess.

Ok, some might not have a problem with that but I would. I just find it hard to believe that I could relate to a guy thats so much older than me as a partner. Plus its weird. I mean you'd be almost like my dad. Whats wrong with women in your age range? Are you doing through a mid life crisis or something?

Good luck in finding what you want, but be careful as they may just be after your money. maybe you think by going out with a younger woman then it will keep you young for longer but what happens down the road when your sixty and your partner just 30. i would think carefully about all the pros and cons of this before entering into a relationship with someone considerably younger than you. best of luck

Just be careful you dont do anything illegal. Liking younger women is fine, but not teens. Thats kind of gross, no offense.
God Bless

its actually not goofy.. its psychological.
Mens instincts are to go after women that are of reproducing age, and have the capibiliteis for it. ( body) Women tend to go after older men because they tend to be more stable and are better providers for their offspring.
I think as long as you dont look really old, and you dont have kids the same age as the person you trying to date, i dont see the problem. My dad is the same way, he is in his mid 50's and everyone thinks he's my boyfriend (im 27) when we go out >:(. it's flattering to him, gross to me..LOL

No, I don't think there's anything wrong with dating younger women I do find it strange that you have a "target range" for women that you want to date.
