Someone I know is in need of a detox-for drugs and alcohol. And the family wants to give her an ultimatum/intervention to tell her to either get help or they'll kick her out of the house. The problem is they need to have a place where she can go to detox if she chooses to get help. Also she has no current insurance. Can detoxes take peope w/o insurance and will it cost that person a lot of money w/o insurance? This person will die soon it seems like-if detox w/o insurance is going to be expensive (which they can't afford) what do you do just let her die? I know about AA/NA but s needs to detox first! Can you help?

I would say contact your local Department of Social Services....they may assist in the bill, or pay all of it...or even suggest a location where this service may be free or at least on a reduced pay plan? Good luck!

Check in your phone book under addictions or mental health, there is usu a bunch of 800 numbers start calling explain your situation. There are usually free state run programs (but those sometimes have a waiting list and sometimes have more drug problems)
