If the majority of guys these days have short haircuts, does your hairstyle even play a factor anymore when tryiing to make an impression in the dating scene?

ofcourse...everything matters and i mean everything...if your hair is badd. and your appearance your attire is great...you have just ruined everything...and with girls everything matters...fingernails need to be clean etc. we are picky...cleanliness... guys need to show girls that they take care of them selves

Absolutely, a hair cut or hairstyle says alot about a person. So look in the mirror and ask yourself what statement are you making.

i heard this from a girl - they dont like too short or too long hair
like maybe 2-3cm in length or so

Yes. It says alot about you, your personal hygeine, your style, and possibly your beliefs or job.
high and tight, long and shaggy, clean cut. dreadlocks. bald. punky with spikes.
It all says something about you, for good or bad.
