yea, to a certain level... following up with teachers, letting your kids know that you will be in the grades and classrooms from time to time...this ensures that your children will not become slothful...creat discipline in the home...bad grades, no t.v, or no slumber party... what ever is dear to them, they can earn by making the grades

I've found that my parents butt in a lot and it seems like they're doing more of it than I am. Although this is sometimes nice, it isn't helping me at all. If I were you, I'd make my child do the work first, check it over, tell them how many mistakes there are and ask them to find it. If they cannot find the mistakes, then help them, but do not tell them right away =]

Get them involved in lots of activities beside helping their homework or anything else.

Yes, you'd be involved, but also talk to your kid's teacher and keep informed about grades, special project, special activities, etc.

Just help them, but do not do it for them. I work with a woman who did her son's entire science project and then got upset when "he" made a C. That did not teach her son anything but how to get mom to do everything for him.
