The kick that you get is due to caffeine. Coffee has about 3 times more caffeine than tea, so unless you want to drink 3+ cups of tea, try one cup of coffee. Do not rely on coffee to take the place of sleep, however. A good night's sleep is way better then any amount of caffeine for your body.

Coffee has more caffeine. That means that it would be a better choice, but it depends on what you are used to. Much of the world wakes up with tea and does just fine on it.

I prefer coffee in the morning and iced tea in the afternoon. I use a combination of the two I guess... :) Different people have different levels of caffine that they need to "wake them up". My husband grabs some diet Mt. Dew and he is good to go...with me....I need a couple cups of coffee.

Black tea has more caffeine. It really depends on you though. Some people find that the smell of coffee helps them perk up.

Everyone's different. I think that if you drink coffee like it's water, tea will work. Vice versa
