Come on, i mean i can accept that there my have been a man called jesus who was executd on the cross, but do you actually believe the fictionally stories of the bible? because in my opinion, anyone who believes in a man who can walk on water etc, a world created by some almighty god who choese to make everything in however many days, a good place in the sky and an evil place in the ground, the list of absolute ridiculous tales goes on and on - you people must be out of your minds! and dont say 'how can you prove these things dont exist?' because you know that i cant, but anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that half the world is brainwashed by such tales and that the world would be a better place without the lot of you. At leat religion is slowly starting to die out amongst younger gengeations cos as kids get cleverer, they can see through the mask of religion that is forced on their faces.

It all comes down to faith. No, you didn't see those things happen, and you can't see God, although you can see His creation. However, you can't see the wind, either, yet you know or have faith, that it's there when you feel it, right? Or if you are inside, and cannot feel it, but you see the trees waving back and forth, you know, or believe, or have faith, that it's there, because you see the effects of it, right? Or how about if you go to sit down on the couch; you don't question it, or it's ability to hold you, you just plunk your butt down on it, right? Well, that is faith. You have faith it will hold you. This is why Christians believe the Bible. we have faith. And I think it must just be in circles you hang in (which makes sense, if you're not a believer) that religion (I'm assuming you mean belief in God by that) is dying out, becuase from what I can see, young people are hungrier than ever for relationship with God.

[Quote] "you people must be out of your minds! and don't say 'how can you prove these things don't exist?' because you know that i cant, but anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that half the world is brainwashed by such tales"

I can see you have had a very bad experience(s) with people who call themselves Christians. For this I apologize and am deeply ashamed. But in regards to the section I quoted above, I have to ask what are you referring to? Life and creation or God? Cause in BOTH cases there is more then enough proof for both cases. In fact I firmly believe that creation itself ( assuming that you can trust that fact that you really exist) Proves the existence of a God. Things work too perfectly and to amazingly for this existence to all be an accident. To the point about Religion, I agree, Religion should be done with and put away. Christianity is NOT suppose to be a religion, It is a Personal Relationship with God. This does not mean we are equal to God or gods ourselves but that we are loved by God and want us to share in His love for us and for us to Share His love with the world through word and deed. To often Christians become too focused on the law of the bible which with Jesus's death was suppose to be rewritten as the new covenant. The new covenant is Two rules, Love God, Love your Neighbor.

I don't know if this really answers your question but I hope it helps. Just so you know, God loves you and will never turn his back on you. Humans that we are, Will fail and hurt you but God never will. Don't decide that Christianity or the bible are lies because of bad experiences with Christians because we are human and tend to fail showing God's love.

Actually , you just proved yourself wrong. The Bible prophesies that there will be a great turning away. It's happening right now. If you don't believe the Bible, it's probably because you haven't actually read it . You'll believe in the end. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord.

Of course , I'm not saying the christian world is not full of hypocrites. It most definately is. But that is only because it is full of humans. We're all sinners and christians aren't better than anyone else. We're sinners saved by grace. Which just means that we've confessed our sins and accepted Jesus.

As for the world being a better place without us, one day we will be gone and you will have great tribulation when God pours out his wrath upon the earth.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I feel the same, but there are a lot of good teachings in the bible. They're just so commonly misinterpreted and twisted into a mechanism of control. I believe Jesus did walk this earth, and did heal people and walk on water, and I know that if he came back... they would all deny him saying he's not who he is and would end up dead like the first time. This is what society does with people who show us our true abilities. They get buried, or hung on a cross because if we realized our own potential "we wouldn't be able to be CONTROLLED." Jesus' teachings were wonderful teachings before they got hi-jacked. Peace.

It's a good question but you didn't ask it very respectfully so you are unlikely to get a respectful answer.

In truth it's the most important question a person will ever have to deal with and it's a question no one can answer for you. You must make the effort to find out for yourself.

My belief is that there is a God and one day each of us will be called to explain how we lived our lives. There many Christians who believe that Jesus performed miracles and there are many who are not convinced that he did.

My advise to you is this. Go to a Christian book store tell them you are not sure if you believe in God or not. Ask them to recommend a book that you can read to learn more, buy it and read it. Be open to the possibility you may be wrong. Learn as much as you can and make up your own mind.

I can see how people can believe, but it has to be accepted that the stories in the Bible are written in the style of the time, therefore may necessarily have been embellished and wreathed in satire.
I mean, we know that Adam and Eve were not just "created" and that humans evolved from lesser primates - but Adam and Eve could certainly be representations of the first homo sapiens. Just as, the world as it is (lifesupporting) could not have been created in 7 days.....but there could have been 7 periods of change in the Earth's history before it became able to support human life. I personally have faith in God, but I beleive that the Bible HAS to be used in an interpretive way, and to be honest, I also feel this is why it has survived so long - it can be interpreted in the manner of the time it is being read in.

Maybe it really is Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth hehe..wish I knew!

Look sometime at the Psalms 22. You will find a description of every event that happen during the crucifixion of Christ, written about 1000 years before it happens. Includes his words, that he would be pierced throughs the hands and in the side (not normal for crucifixions), what his enemies would say about him, that the soldiers would ganble for his clothing, etc. We know this written long before the events happen because it is quoted by hunderds of other writers and exist in dozens of language. Was included in the library of Alexandria during the time of Alexander the Great 400 years before. Yet this is only one of over 90 different prophecies by dozens of authors that Jesus fullfilled. (Read the Gospel of Matthew sometime where he list many of them).

If all this is not true, explain how that could be?

Yes, there was a Jesus who performed the miracles and other acts listed in the Bible. No fact of history is more strongly supported then his existance. There are dozens of historians, but Christians and non-Christians who write of his existance and his miracles. There are four biographies of him, written by 3 people who knew him personally and a fourth who in his introduction assures the reader that he only included events that he was about to confirm by interviewing the people actually involved.

There are accounts of his life and miracles written by people who did not believe in him (such as the Jews scholar and historian Josephius). His miracles are mentioned in the Talmud (complete around 135 AD) which is very much NON-Christian document written to preserve the Jewish traditions that Christianity was threating to replace at the time.

No, you are mistaken. The number of people who knew there is a God and accept the Bible as his divine revelation is increasing.

Please take the time to check it out Christianity for yourself. I promise you that it will stand up to your questions.

Unbelievable huh, Josephus wrote of several Jesus, none of which were from Nazareth, because that was a grave yard, the Romans executed revolutionary Jews because Jerusalem was military occupied, and the New Testament is a collection of oral stories chosen by the church hierarchy in Rome to be written down and bound in a book, to control society, many many stories were disregarded and called heresy, people were even murdered for disagreeing with the church, remember the Crusades and Inquisitions

I ask this question all the time. Its human nature to believe in a higher power. The greeks had the greek gods, the muslims have ala, etc etc. THe bible is just a really good book that helps establish morals and explanatons for the unknowns. Its also a way for people to believe that life is eternal and there is life after death.

THere is no such thing, when you die there is no life after death. when you die you die, plain and simple.

I guess all I will say here is to read the book of Revelation...look around the world today, and see for yourself. Much of what is written in the bible has been proven as legitimate...see the dead sea scrolls. Jesus was far more than man, he was God in the flesh...he can do all things.
As you said, you can not prove any of it is false, however there are many proven truths...I will pray God will enlighten you and give you the courage to seek the truth with those who will truly open your eyes...only God can open your heart.
