Its not that we pray to the Holy Spirit but its that the Holy Spirit interceds our prayers and takes them before God on our behalf... Romans 8 talks about this in greater detail but to focus the question down look at Romans 8:26 which states:
"26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will."
Hope that helps... By the way, the bible backs the bible I would full suggest doing a inductive study on this chaper and use cross references and you will have a great foundation to back an answer to this question... :P

The Holy Spirit is the part of God that he sends to us. You don't pray to the Holy Ghost, You receive the Holy Ghost! ( Holy Ghost = Holy Spirit) There are many passages in the Bible that talk about the Holy Spirit. The Book Of Acts is a really good place to start to find out information about the Holy Ghost. It is the first accounts of people getting the Holy Ghost. When Jesus was on earth, there was no need for the Holy Spirit because God was walking on earth among the people. The Holy Ghost is our substitute for not having God as a person living with us. Instead we can have him living in us directing our path and helping us to do his will.

If the Trinity is true that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all the one God, then is it not possible that we can pray to each of the members of the Trinity?
However, in the Old Testament that phrase is used only of God and it includes the meaning of worship, adoration, and prayer.
But it differs in the New Testament in Corinthians.
We never see an instance in the Bible where anyone prays to the Holy Spirit? Why is that? The answer is that the Holy Spirit does not bear witness of Himself.

Thats the problem with some Christians. They don't know who they are praying to. I don't either. I pray but I don't know if I should pray to Jesus, Holy Spirit or God.

You pray to all three (God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit) when you pray. NO special way of praying to the Holy Spirit.

I pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. The Bible tells us there is one mediator between us & God,& that is Jesus. The Holy Spirit is of God & He teaches us all things.

There is a place in the bible where it says the Holy Spirit will teach us how to pray. And when we don't know what to say the Spirit will make intercession for us.
The Spirit will interpret our moanings and groanings.

nope , you pray to God in the name of jesus, meaning you have to acknowledge jesus before you communicate with god. but you can recieve the holy spirit and be obedient to the holy sprirt, and then you can operate in the power of god. which is unlimited ( when you hear about one man lifting a truck off of a person) that is and example of the power of god or operation in the holy spirit
