Yes. But not right away. With the release comming for the new playstation 3 (it has a blue ray) and the release of the xbox 360 (it has hdd) its just a matter of time before companys make the switch to that format. But plan on it being like 2-3 years before you see tv programs make that kind of leap. and even longer before tv shows that have already been released to do a format change. Also, any programs that werent done in HD might not make the change due to the fact that there wont be a big diffrence by going to those formats and the cost-benifit ratio might swing in the wrong way.

This may take some time. If we look at the history of new media (CD and DVD) at first, the scarcity of replication facilities limited the available titles, but as time wore on, even the most obscure materials became available.
