Number one - I would tell your doctor about this and seek counselling. There may be a chemical imbalance there.

Number two - you need to get outside. Take a walk, get some sun, see some friends.

Number three - Talk to your friends and family about how you feel. Do things with them.

Number four - Really pay attention to Number One!

Three weeks is too long for PMS or a passing angst. You're depressed. You don't say whether you also feel physically paralyzed, which often accompanies these feelings of depression (persistent sadness and crying). People may tell you go out, see people, but obviously, if you could, you would. And do as much as you can that way, reach out to anyone. Also try walking a little each day. Set one small realistic goal a day and do it, it will be a mood booster. However, I really think that to make a serious dent in your depression, particularly if you are finding it overwhelming or useless to reach out to anyone or do any lirttle physical exercise, you need to take anti-depressants. Even though the trigger may be some situation - a break-up, a job loss, a move - the symptoms are chemical. Do not delay. Search for a psychiatrist, and if you can't afford one, talk to your internist. I have a friend who was just going through this, and even though she does not like medication, two weeks into 20 mg of Prozac, she's very glad she did it. She is also broke and could not afford a psychiatrist and had to shop around for a doctor on her insurance who would not be pharma-phobic. Her gynecologist gave her the prescription for Prozac. It won't make you happy, but it will take the edge of the sadness and feelings of powerless-ness, so you can move on with some action. And you will stop crying. Get your hands on some anti-depressants. Good luck.

It's ok to feel sad, but it's time to get out of it! And what you need to do is:
1.- workout for at least 30 minutes a day (exercise makes your brain release endorphins that make you naturally feel happy and good!)

2.- Drink water, lots of it. This way you cleanse your body of any toxins that may be blurring your thoughts and mood

3.- Eat lots of fresh things such as fruits! Yummy :-)

And most importantly, remember that no matter how difficult things seem, everything gets better with time, you just need to hang in there, be strong and never forget that everything gets better with time. HaNg iN ThErE!!! And cheer up!! :-)

get out, get a life. Actually you need help, you need to learn to be happy with yourself first and then things start to all into place

While therapy and antidepressant medication are the most effective treatments for depression, home treatment is also important. There are many steps you can take to help yourself during a depressive episode and to prevent future episodes:

You need to get out more, make some friends. The more you sit around and do nothing, the more time you have to think and be sad. Get active! gojoin a health club,or some group or organization, get out and quit thinking so much, you have to find someone to talk to and get what ever it is out and off your chest..

Get out of the house. Watch a movie. Do something, but whatever you do, find something to make you happy and do it. Be safe about it, but do something fun. If you want to meet people, have a friend set you up. Just don't do anything crazy.
