because they can't walk and it is their way of getting around, and keeping up.

That is just how it is done, everyone must learn to crawl before they can walk, and it strengthens the muscles in the backs of their necks also.. which is a proven fact that the stronger the neck muscle, the better reader they will be, and that is not a joke, they have done research on that, so make sure the baby crawls a lot !! I know it sounds silly, but it was just another one of those million $ studies our gov did and discovered that babies who crawled longer read more and were smarter than those that did not..

if you read the bible it would say you have to crawl before you walk and so you have yo have some type of movement so they crawl because that's what they know first

Because they can't walk yet. That's their way of getting around the house, so they don't just have to sit in one spot all the time.

Because they do not learn to balance themselves until older, nor, are the bones strong enough to hold them up.
