I believe in God, I am a church goer and will always be. But can I also believe in some of the other religious beliefs that are out there? Like I believe in reincarnation, and I believe in astrology and tarot cards and palm reading, I don't know if that's really a religion, but I believe in it. So is it okay to still believe in God and all the other things too?

Hi - You can believe anything you desire! There is a common misconception that BELIEF and TRUTH are the same thing. All religious and spiritual traditions have Truth in them. I doubt that any of them contain the whole Truth. In our church (I am the minister) we focus on the teachings of Jesus, yet we accept, see great value in, and teach the best of other traditions as well. If someone challenges your belief in reincarnation here's a question you can ask them: "If Eternity has no end and no beginning.....when does eternal life begin?"

Reincarnation, astrology, tarot, etc are all tools that can help point one to the truth of heaven. And let's remember that Jesus taught that heaven is within us.

Bless you!!!

Sure, why not? There are churches that are open enough to allow personal views such as yours. Maybe you just need to find one of those. It sounds like, and I may be wrong, your talking about being Christian and also what I call "New Age". Hey ... Why not just be a New Age Christian? And when you get right down to it, isn't what you believe a PERSONAL matter between YOU and your GOD? No one has the right, even though some try, to tell you what that relationship will be or how it should be. That's up to you. There is only conflict in your belief system if ... a: YOU think there is. ~or~ b: You let some one or some thing else put it there. And consider ... Certain things in the Bible, the miracles, things like the apostles casting lots to choose the replacement for Judas, visions, prophecy, talking with angels, etc. & etc. ... Aren't these just another take on the other things you mentioned? You know, what we today call psychic phenomena? ~ Peace & Blessings ~

Like the others said you can believe in whatever you want to believe in but why would you want to let tarot cards and astrology dictate your life? I mean it's sometimes fun to see if those things describe yourself but if your looking for an answer to something why don't you go to God and ask him to revel it to you? As far as reincarnation I'm not really sure about but I don't know if you read the Holy Bible or not or what religion you are you should look it up and see what it says. That's just my suggestion.

Well, I support your right to believe in whatever you wish to. However, a belief in the true God and a thorough reading and understanding of His word would show you that tarot cards, reincarnation, palm reading, astrology and the like are forbidden by Him. You may contact me for additional information if you desire.

You need to read what the bible says about tarot cards and the like. Just like Moses was able to cast his staff upon the ground and it turned into a snake, so too were the magicians able to perform a similar feat (though not God inspired). Be careful of things that APPEAR to be true, but are bent and twisted to decieve and complicate your life. Gaining WISDOM is the one of the biggest goals in your spiritual journey towards your reunion with God (through Jesus Christ). I would spoeak to your pastor about this concern and ask that he provide biblical references that support his claim. To ask a question is healthy in your quest to decipher good from evil. Try these bible versus:

Leviticus 19:31
Deuteronomy 18:9-14
Leviticus 20:6
Acts 13:8-10
Revelation 21:8

Yes, you can believe in whatever you want to believe in. That is a gift from God called free-will. If you are a Christian (which you never specifically said) then the answer you're looking for is in the Bible: "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft" Deut. 18 or Galatians 5 which says " The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. "

The Bible doesn't deny the existence of supernatural powers outside of God. It just instructs us to stay away from them.
This may not be the most popular thing to say, but it is what I believe.

I think that it is ok to feel this way because I felt the same way but I made I choice and I chose God because he is my father and in the bible it says that he is a jealous God and that no God comes before him so with that being said I believe in him and only him but I do understand where other religions are coming from you need to make your mind up honey!

I hope so because I believe in God and all those things to. I don't believe in God as some of the religions teach I believe in God as a conscious energy that makes up all living things. The things that you have named are tools that can help us along our path in life. We need all the help we can get.

Religion is a way of controlling the masses. You can believe in God and still believe in other forms as well. After all, believing in God is as blind of a faith as all the other beliefs you described.
