It's such a "hot button" issue that most likely they will never do anything about it. Kinda like the Clinton plan for healthcare for everybody in America - that never went anywhere & by the second term healthcare was never mentioned again. There's no way that group of folks up on Capital Hill is ever going to pass laws stating no more imigrants in America - it just isn't going to happen. They'll keep pushing it around on the plate, sorta like a kid who hopes to hide his peas under his mashed potatoes, & eventually something else will come along to take the place in the national focus.

The House hasn't even been GIVEN the Bill to review yet.

The Senate added measures with its amnesty plan to collect fines and back taxes which makes it a revenue raising bill. Under the Constitution, all revenue raising bills must originate in the House. The House has already made it clear that they are just waiting to 'blue slip' the bill right back to the Senate as unconstitutional. It only takes one member to do it, and there are many who would vie for the chance.

There are ways around this, like attaching the Senate provisions to a tax bill that has already passed the House. However, the Democrats don't want to do this.

People are calling this a technicality, but the reason the Founding Fathers gave this power to the House is that the House is designed to be more responsive to public opinion. It was not accidental.

So the House is just waiting.....

The House passed a bill, the Senate passed another. They're now trying to compromise but it won't happen.

If they pass a "business-friendly" bill they will get voted out of office and they don't have the guts to actually represent American citizens. Therefore they will pass a business friendly bill after the elections and hope everyone forgets.

They will probably stall until after the election. It's too hot of an issue and too controversial.
