When my daughter was about 12 months I decided it was time to do away with the ba ba. So what I did was throw away all the bottles except for about 2. When she would ask for the bottle I would only put water in it, and put the good stuff (juice, milk, ect.) in the sippy cup. Soon she realized that she didn't want the bottle anymore because it didn't taste good. Now she is 18 months and all the bottles are gone and drinks from a sippy cut like a pro.

Try taking out the one-way valve on the cup. When my son first went to sippy cups, either he didn't have enough strength to overcome the valve, or he didn't understand that liquid came out so he didn't suck. Once he has some practice without the valve (we did it like that for a month or two), then start putting the valve back in.

A note on juice, don't give them any. The American Association of Pediatric doctors recommend toddlers only get 4 oz (half a cup) of juice per day max. Juice it the nutritional equivalent of just spoon feeding sugar to your baby. It makes them hyperactive, obese, and makes them less hungry to eat the real meals.

I'm sure you know that at 11 months, you should still be giving him formula. It's really only after his first birthday that you start introducing whole milk.

Even though each child is different, I have found that putting only water in the bottle and only allowing milk or juice in the sippy cup works best. I also started with a small rubbermaid juice box container( one used for packing school lunches) that had a straw that comes with it. My children enjoyed the use of the straw, they just couldn't have it unsupervised. Your son will not like doing without the bottle, but you have to reassure him that he is fine and practice your diversion skills.

Try taking the nipple off the bottle while he is drinking his milk. Its just he is used to drinking from a bottle and it will take some time. And also have you tried the sip cup with the rubber mouth piece like the nipple of the bottle, works pretty nice. And let him drink out of a regular cup no harm in that but spills LoL.Good luck

I don't know if your trying to ween your child from a baby bottle or not, but if this is the case they sell these sippy cup style attachments that screw on top of a baby bottle, sort of like a sport bottle style tip. It worked great for the transition with my children. You can find these attachments at walmart I know for sure. I can't remember the brand either it's been awhile since mine were babies. I know they still exsist though because I bought them for friends for baby shower gifts.

take the sippy away and give him a lil cup his size with a straw. he doesn't need to go back to the bottle it's just easier for him to go back and harder for you to get him to let go. He'll be ok , just make sure you put something in it that he will drink

Don't force it on him, but show him how to hold it and maybe him seeing you drink from a sippy cup will make him want to do it too. If nothing else, just let him hold it while he sits in his high chair so he gets used to having it.

Try starting with the softer spouts. That was exactly how I made the transition. I have used the Avent brand and they fit right into the bottle or into an avent sippy cup so they dont have to go directly to the hard spout.

get rid of the bottle and give him a cup...if you want him to use a sippy cup than only offer a sippy cup...eventually, he will be thirsty enough and he will drink from it...but you must get rid of the bottles

maybe the sippy cup is air tight? nothing is coming out? Check to see if the air flow is restricted. Clean it out and see if anything will come out.

Nothing like a sippy cup malfunction to ruin your day!
