Who says they can't? I have a couple of friends who are guys and that's all they are....just friends.

Boys and girls can be friends, it just takes a bit more work than a girl/girl or boy/boy friendship. You have to make sure there are no "mixed signals" being sent, plus you have to constantly reassure one another's boyfriends and girlfriends that there's nothing going on between you. Then there's the whole crush "scenario" to look out for, and for us gals, we have to be especially selective because lots of guys will say they just want to be friends when actually they are just waiting for a chance to make their move. So it is possible, just complicated.

Nothing prevents a boy and girl from interacting together in a
non-sexual way. Society will often assume that a make and
female that are seen together all the time are more then just
friends.
This is no concern to anyone but you and your friend. Don't
allow others to dictate who you may be friends with and or
how your relationship with that person is defined.

Guys and Gals can be friends. I have a "girl" friend I have known for the last thirty years. We talk at least once a year to catch up because she is in FL and I am in OH. Our fathers was in the Navy, so, life has taken us in different directions. We were once "together", but you know how the Navy can be in moving their people around.

This can happen if they are mature. I feel that if you are the bigger person. and not blame the other for everything admit mistakes. you become friends. acknowledgment when you see one another. and if you were together for along time. hopefully you were friends first. maybe a phone call just to say hi is always a start. to friendship again...

I have tons of friends that are guys! They can be friends! Just not anymore than friends if one of them is going out with someone.

That is a simple misconception., The majority of my closest friends are men. All I get from them is advice and encouragement.

You can. Both parties have to be mature enough to realize there might be attraction issues from time to time. Nothing that good communication can't solve. It can be an awesome friendship if you both work at it!

i have TONS of friends that are girls
nothing says that we cant be friends
we just dont feel attracted to each other as i do with other girls
which are still my friends (for now :) )

They can of source, but in most of the time is difficult because they see each other as opposite gender, so they think about sex
