Yes it can be absorbed through a cut, but not enough to get you drunk.
Alcohol, when you drink it, is processed through the liver and distrubuted throughout the bloodstream. With a cut, without being processed through the liver, the properties of the alcohol are not dispursed throughout the system and does not allow you the same effect as when you drink.

I highly doubt that you can absorb that much alcohol in a cut to make you drunk. If you think about it, the blood that leaks out of the body is forcing anything outside of the body to stay out! Very little of the alcohol will be "asorbed" through the cut. Also, if you think about it.......the sensation of having alcohol on an open wound would not be the most pleasing experience. If you want to get drunk.......just drink it!

I'm thinking no. While the alcohol you would use to clean your skin is in fact alcohol, it is different than the one you would drink. Plus, the amount you would use to clean a cut is not sufficient to get you drunk.

While it is safe to put alcohol on a cut, you will not get drunk from it. People have been putting alcohol on cuts for centuries and they turned out fine.

a drink called Goldschlager does just that. It has tiny things in the drink that create small tears in the lining of your esophagus, thus letting the alcohol directly into the bloodstream and getting you drunk faster.

the wound would close before enough liquid gets in.. but there are miths about drinks having fiber glass or little metal pieces that cut your throat so you absorb the alcohol faster.. I say thats bull .. I've had goldshlagher and it sucks

yes and no, you can not get drunk from RUBBING ALCOHOL going into the blood stream.but if that alcohol gets into a deep cut, you'll be doing a dance and hollering, cause it will hurt like heck.

I think you don't even need a cut in the skin. Once my boyfriend gave me a massage with vodka (yes, I was young and stupid.. ) and I was completly drunk after a while.

No it can't. the skin acts as a barrier, and even a cut will not soak up liquid put on it.
