How can I let my 2nd son know that he's still to young for some things while his brother isn't & not upset him

My older son is mature for 10 while my younger son is immature for 8. It’s a challenge to parent them differently.

Sorry, he may get upset, but just explain there are things for different ages. For example, starting school, getting a library card, getting your liscence. And with age comes responsibilities.

Of course it is a challenge, that is what parenting is!! If he is an immature 8, I think he is going to get upset no matter what. You just need to be firm and explain to him that when he demonstrates the responsibility or maturity of your older son, he will be able to do the same things. He has to earn your trust... your older son being older has been able to do so.

It's hard to parent differently because you have spent so much time making sure everything is equal and fair.

You still can: make the "some things" child friendly.
If your 10 year old gets to use the computer ... maybe your 8 year old can sit with you and learn.

If your 10 year old gets to stay up and watch a little more tv...
maybe he can read instead while you read to the 8 year old...or...maybe they both can stay up and watch the childs program you pre-taped for them.

There's not such a large divergence in age where simple compromise has to be avoided.

You don't need to explain anything really, this kind of relationship between the younger and older brother has been going on forever. Just tell him that he is not old enough and his brother is
whats hard about that

just sit down with him in say your other brother older than u so when u get his u will be able to do what he dose. But if dosent work then say if u wait i will git something spacial even though u really dint have too.
