I actually think that Tabasco is too sweet.

If you like spicy things, here is a great (but easy) salsa that I learned how to make from my ex-wife's Mexican grandmother.

28 oz can of tomatos
2 cloves garlic
1/4 onion (if desired)
1 or 2 jalepenos (fresh if available)(you could put in any hot chili pepper that you like though)
fresh cilantro
salt to taste

put it in blender for 5 - 10 seconds

let it rest in refrigerator for at least an hour

serve with tortilla chips

I hate it, personally. I find it to be very low-quality. Poor taste. Gross "chemically" sensation. (Due to the fact that it has too much of a "vinegary", chemically taste) No real heat to it. Etc.

It's been around for a long time, and thus it has a popularity, because many people are used to it. But I found that once I started branching out and trying other brands of hot sauces, Tabasco just didn't hold up at all. Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce (aka "Rooster Sauce" as I've heard it called) is my go-to. Great flavor that has notes of sweetness and notes of hot pepper without the overbearing vinegar-flavor of sauces like Tabasco. Good "natural feeling" burn. Good consistency. It's my favorite. I also like some of the Tropical Pepper Company's sauces. Their Ghost Pepper sauce is too strong on its own for me, but mixed into some chili (along with some cayenne sauce and maybe a little Chipotle sauce), and it's to die for.

love it :)
It's addictive and you need more and more.
I started years ago with few drops, and now it's a full bottle on a pizza.
8.000 capsicum on the normal Tabasco.
but.....
200.000 on the habanero Tabasco...
450.000 the spiciest habanero pepper
1mil is the strongest I've seen - chemically made though without any flavor.

I first got the habanero Tabasco 2 years ago. Now i make sure a have a little bottle with me wherever I go.

tabasco is awesome, a little bit here and there adds a nice chili taste at the tip of your tongue
