Dude, a definite yes on the bowflex thing. But get one from a friend which is not being used. You can grab it as a friendly loan, or as an outright gift. The world is filled with people who BUY that kind of thing and the only exercise they get from it is in moving it from their spare room to the basement. When I volunteered at Goodwill Industries, we would see at least two of them a week during the summer, and always that "I gave up on it" look on the person's face who was donating it. We would sell them for less than ten bucks. Do not, if you can possibly avoid it, spend for the thing new. It costs a small fortune. I would have you get it for zero dollars, use it for however long you enjoy having it and then pass it along when you've had enough. You probably already can think of a way to get this for nothing, and I do not mean stealing it. You are going to look so great after you've been using it for even two months... good luck to you and congratulations for wanting to take such great care of your body and general health! - G. in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A.

Like any piece of exercise equipment, its value is dependent on the user(s). The bowflex, is a great piece of machinery if its used frequently and properly as well as being maintained. It does have many effective exercises built into it.
If you're unsure, you may look for a used model somewhere. That will save you the $$ in the long run, from buying a brand new model and not using.

A Bowflex is a great piece of exercise equipment, but only if you use it. Too many people buy one for whatever reason (like a New Years resolution), use it a couple of times, then it becomes an expensive clothes hanger. But, if you are dedicated, and use it regularly, you will see good results.

I like the natural movement and resistance of free weights. Machines often consume less space, and give results like what you have seen.
IF you do buy one, I suggest you buy a used one. Many people buy such things at full price, never use them, then dump them for pennies on the dollar at yard sales. Good time of year to find such things, too.

No. Your better off buying a weight bench, pull up bar and some dumbells. Much better and cheaper than a bowflex.

Well depends on what your looking for with your body, I was using my sisters and i noticed i can do all exercises with the resistance on full, so if your looking to get big you should stick to the gym

Go to a home equipment store and try out a few models. You know yourself. If you think you will use it at home, and you like the model you pick, go for it.

Only buy one if you are really dedicated to work on it. Most of them have dust bunnies living in and around them!
