he is a great guy, but our whole relationship has been a lie, he lied about having kids, about his job, about his car even about his age. i found out all of it after we got engaged. i broke off the engagement but i stilll feel that he isnt sucha bad person, am i kidding myself?

Ever wonder why he lies? You are being shielded through deception, of something they feel you won't accept him if you knew. These types wait until you fall head over heels in love with them before they take off the mask, knowing that you'll overlook their deception (also control issues) if you love them. Now is a good time to run away - if he cared about you he would have been honest. Unless you see a psychiatric report diagnosing him as a pathological liar, recognize the symptoms:
What's he hiding? Drug abuse? Insecurities? AIDS? There is something you really don't want to find out. Walk away, while you still consider him a great guy and know within your heart of hearts that he's not. These guys will smile and tear you down and you'll become the liar to all your friends and family (hiding the stupidity you showed by staying).

How can you have a great relationship with someone you can't and shouldn't trust? If you think this is going to change you have a really big problem. Get rid of him and then get yourself into therapy to find out why you would even consider letting him stay in your life. You deserve so much better. Good Luck!!!

I have an aunt that is a pathological lire. on it. She would swear that what she said was the truth. At first we would call her . Then my mom told her to go seek help and she just said she wasn't crazy. Now a days we just act like we believe her, then we go and find out if its true or not.
