She was Born into a Baptist family, her parents were married by Reverend Charles D. Reed of the Calgary Baptist Church.

Ball "remarried" Desi Arnaz in a Catholic ceremony June 19th, 1949 but she herself never converted to the faith.

For a short time also Ball attended Marble Collegiate Church (Dutch Reform), run by Norman Vincent Peale, but never considered herself a member of the Dutch Reformed Church. In her own words, "It was a beautiful ceremony and I believed in it. At the time, I seriously intended to become a Catholic. I took instruction for a long time, but lost the inspiration when I realized that Catholicism did not seem to help Desi in his life."

Lucille Ball died from an acute aorta aneurysm on April 26, 1989, at the age of 77. When she died, she was buried in a rather insignificant wall niche on Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills, California. However, in 2002, her daughter had her remains moved to Lakeview Cemetary in Jamestown, New York.

As for her religion, Ball was born into a Protestant family, and considered herself as a Protestant throughout her life. When she became wed to Desi Arnaz (a Catholic), she studied Catholicism for a while, planning to convert, but she never did.

"I have an everyday religion that works for me. Love yourself first, and everything else falls into line." -Lucille Ball
